Anything labeled Legends isn't canon anymore but the books and stuff are still reprinted so they didn't have to totally nuke 40 years of content and say those things would never be published again. So for example I just picked up the Thrawn trilogy with a giftcard I had and it isn't canon but I can still buy it new instead of needing to get it used. Pretty much everything from before the reboot is legends, the old novel, the old video games, and the 80s cartoons like Droids, with only the movies themselves and the computer animated Clone Wars surviving the reboot to be called canon another day. To the best of my knowledge the last two things in Legends still actively receiving content are the Star Wars tabletop rpg and SWTOR with everything else having wrapped up. The weirdest part to me though is like, Clone Wars is still canon which is great because I love Ahsoka, but ALL OF THE TIE IN COMICS/NOVELS AREN'T. So some of my favorite Clone Wars moments aren't actually canon anymore which is weird as hell
My ex-girlfriend/one of my friends finally talked me into reading and finishing Zahn's Thrawn Trilogy over Christmas Break and now there are like seven more star wars books checked out from the library lying around my room. I am so very on board with the 'Mara Jade Is Awesome' train. I'm hoping to have my hold of Jedi Search come in soon so I can giggle at the silliness that is the Sun Crusher, and because I remember reading Dark Apprentice off my Dad's shelf as a kiddo. If I run out of patience I think I'm starting with The Courtship of Princess Leia because it seems to be kind of foundational, and I'll get to find out where the Nightsisters originate from.
If anything it's so ridiculously pre-canon wrt timeline that what happens in there is going to be considered a Legend anyway.
I'm going to end up shipping my two characters together despite the odds of them ever meeting being incredibly tiny. Being that one is a smuggler and the other a sith assassin.
Dude my "family tree" is so ridiculously interwoven it's not even funny. AND interwoven with my husband's. My main, Sage1 is lifebonded to Husband's main GuardianH1. She adopted the parthogenesis-induced daughter of my True Sith Inquisitor1. That daughter is my Shadow1 and having a torrid affair with AgentH1, who is twins with SmugglerH1, SmugglerH1 is childhood sweethearts with my Sage2, padawan of Sage1. Sage1 is Allies with Trooper1, who is whatever the Mandalorian version of blood brothers is with my Bounty Hunter1 and therefore involuntarily connected to BH1's little sister, my Agent1. Trooper also has a scapegrace Smuggler1 daughter that has decided to leave off her campaign of sleeping with the entire galaxy to climb Theran Shan like a tree. ...and then I have divded-by-politics twin Cathar sister Guardian/Juggernauts thrown in there somewhere. Hello, I'm Avi, and I have an alternate character creation problem. (I should note that all of them save the Cathar are 65s and done with the latest expansion) I'm curious how the new movies will incorporate Jedi relationships if they take SWTOR into account. Like, attachments and love and whatnot are still discouraged but canon Jedi are popping out kids all over the damn place and getting only vague disapproval. Though to be fair that could be because Spoiler GrandMaster Satele Shan herself was forced to pop a kid out for Prophecy and stars forbid the Jedi be hypocritical
Of course Jedi are never hypocritical, that would be ridiculous! :::DDD idk Obi-Wan that sounds like an absolute to me
I'm a free account so only two characters. But still my genderweird (in my heart- obviously not in game) sith assassin is my bb
Inquisitor/Assassins and Bounty Hunters have some of the best snarky banter in the game. Ex: BH: *punches a noble who keeps calling her trash/etc and demanding she go on worthless demeaning errands to prove her worth before he'll work with her as ordered by his superior* Noble: *continues to talk shit* BH: "You're kind of a slow learner, ain'chya." *punches again* Though my ultimate favorite may be the Jedi Consular. Big Bad over the intercom, as you hack into his security: "I know you're here, Jedi... I can sense your presence in the Force..." Consular: "Did the docking starship tip you off, too?" (Especially since the Consulars as a rule have the most polite, diplomatic dialogue)
so i have a question for y'all star wars fans. are the humans in the series really humans? or are they something like sebaceans in farscape where they might as well be humans but aren't exactly? is it supposed to be assumed that humans started out in a galaxy far, far away and after a long, long time ago ended up on earth? is it ever elaborated exactly how long, long ago or how far, far away the series actually is? these questions keep me up at night, so i thought i'd ask.
I must admit, I deleted my smuggler because I found it deathly boring and I wanted to still keep my characters consolidated. So now I have my jedi knight instead, who looks like an anime boy accidentally :P still shipping him with my sith assassin because you know. starcrossed romance (also my assassin keeps accidentally doing light points giving stuff. oops)
I.... am wholeheartedly planing to read that. But I do not want to cry more in the near future. Bookmarked and put on the backburner.
