Some Characters Walk Into A Bar, Pan Fandom RP II (OOC)

Hi! Eliana's player here :) I'm gonna try to work on a more proper blurb for her, but she's an old D&D character of mine, from a game that went through and beyond epic levels. She's moderately accustomed by now to kicking around in strange interplanar shit, but she's never actually connected to other universes before, so this is new.

 

Also a short one, I'm on mobile: Dom is accustomed to weird stuff happening, as he's been in the Order (formerly the Cult) of Herobrine almost since the beginning. This, and the fact that he stopped physically aging as a child, means his personality is basically a mix of curiosity and not giving a single fuck.

 

Katters' weird-shit-o-meter is calibrated a bit below "liminal spaces" and "driders" but she's a trooper

 

!! while groggily waking up this morning, I realized who I want to wander in. she's from more of a sci fi genre, which I'm assuming is ok, and she won't make an appearance for like 8 or 9 hours depending on how long my workday is today.

Nat was a regular human in a world quasi-parallel to ours, where people with superpowers (abhumans) have existed for as long as written history and are,at this point, basically the scum of society. Abhumans are created through trauma (think Worm, if you've read it).

Long story short, Nat was nearly shot and she watched some of her friends die, which caused her to become an abhuman. Since she was turned invisible, she thought she was dead and only ventured out from the spot she was in after a few days of listening to the other people that became abhumans with her - a handful of classmates and a teacher. They've got a really inefficient but working mindlink.

After Nat spent about a month or two convincing herself that she's still alive, she set out to find her friends based only on the hints from their thoughts. She has not yet found any of them.

 

Oh, huh. Does Nat show up to infrared vision, do you think? Because according to the drowtales wiki, driders can see into the 'near infrared.'

 

Nat is only invisible to people looking at her with regular eyes and/or cameras. She'll definitely show up to infrared vision.

so in middle school my friend and i made matching sets of ocs, hers were based off of colors and mine were based off of ice cream flavors, but ultimately the Big Names that we talked about the most was her personification of crimson and my mint chocolate chip - aka raoul
they were hella gay together and we have some great fic of them, like a road trip to brazil to save their asshole friend from the brazillian mob
but yeah a lot of his backstory isn't all me, it was a combo of the two of us haha

anyways, raoul was born in australia, his parents were divorced and after truancy at home his mom gave up and sent him to (fictional) tournaround, arizona to live with his dad, otis, who drives a google maps truck and is generally a kinda weird dude
and tournaround was a weird city! like, night vale before night vale was even a thing, though not quite as weird and otherworldy, but aliens and magical shenanigans were kinda a norm because tournaround was on ley lines or some shit, idr our reasoning
but raoul fit right in because his mom's side of the family has a "gift" thing going on, i forgot what his mom can do but his younger sister (cookies n creme. ..) eventually starts being able to see ghosts and raoul....can make lil interuniversal rips

they're completely unpredictable in terms of size, and the location isn't always what he's looking for, but it's often where he "needs" whether he knows it or not, but leaving behind rips in dimensions can have consequences! so he "sews" them up, knits them together, w/e

so when i saw the premise of this rp i was like hello raoul this is perfect for you, and its definitely nice bc i havent written him in years

Thinking of bringing one of two characters in for when I can't find Riya's voice. 'Letha (Aletha/Aletheia) was a famous seeress in her home nation, especially during the war. She got nabbed by followers of another religion trying to contact their god; scrying god-touched items goes both ways and they had a legit relic she couldn't have resisted Seeing if she tried. Rather than let her become a more-than-slightly-crazy avatar, the god severed the connection not long after it was made but she'd already gone blind and the sudden break also fucked her Sight. The god's followers decided she was useless and dumped her in a river. She lucked out and got picked up by a small merc band (occasionally stooping to banditry) who were originally part of the enemy army. They'd heard of each other, she was known for her ability and their commander was decently honorable during the very messy (on both sides) war. Her Sight was fucked but not entirely gone, they looked after her and kept her safe while she adjusted to the literal blindness and she used her Sight to give them an edge. And when her ability wasn't cooperating she could work as a distraction or a trap because no-one expects the blind waif to be a threat.

Naenia is a wiedergaenger, a person who died violently and came back either through a mage's interference or their own will to extract vengeance from their killer(s). Usually they're consumed by that desire for vengeance, unable to think beyond it or remember their life beyond their last minutes. They're considered more of an animal intelligence even though they can plan when it comes to killing their murderer(s). For reasons she's not entirely sure of Naenia was able to think through the rage and recover a few memories, enough to get control of herself. Eventually the RAGEMURDER thoughts dwindled down until they stopped almost completely. She's still dead, still ambulatory, still has no idea what happened, who she was (Naenia was a name she took once she was sane enough to understand she's a person and names are a thing people have), or why she's not a mindless vengeance machine. She's pretty much wandering around hoping she stumbles into answers because she has no clue where to start.
