This is just me being frustrated for petty and dumb reasons, and has nothing to do with anyone here (though for transparency's sake I can only think my frustration could be stretched thin enough to apply to littlemissCodeless [no ping because this is a dumb thing that doesn't need pinging anyway] even if that's NOT IT AT ALL AUGH) But when I'm looking for dragons that are fairly high-end on the AH (20k and over), and they're named, I'm just like "No?" I can understand the low-end dragons, 12k and below (and hell, I'll throw my hat in for 15k dragons that are named because sometimes grinding is def a thing), but if you name your dragon Sparklepants and price it at an unprofitable exalt number, you bet your sweet bippy I'm gonna ignore the fuck out of it. I don't wanna buy an expensive (relatively, mind, since 20k really isn't much) dragon, I don't wanna spend 6k (or god forbid look at the overpriced ones in the AH) on a renaming scroll when I figure out what I wanna name it. I am a FR republican when it comes to buying pixels. I was trying to find a replacement for my dragon Azra, since the OC she represents doesn't have a black scheme at all, and just. So many named dragons. None of which I wanted to go the extra mile and pick up a renaming scroll for, even if she HAS a name I wanna immediately give her. Trading old clanmates with names attached? Sure, I understand, they've got a previous history. But ur carbon copy xxx iri/shim/ub triplets are not deserving of my extra dragoncash.
-shrug- I name anyone who is likely to wind up on AH, simply because I have no control over what people will do with them once they´re bought and I don´t want the "Unnamed" to be forever stuck in my dragons offspring list if they do get exalted for whatever reason.
I believe in all the site polls people have done over the past two and a half years, the conclusion is that the vast majority of people really don't care if a dragon is named when they buy it.
Like I said it was a personal grump, and I was being frumpy about it because it happened to crop up (I very rarely go dragon hunting, and when I do trawl the AH for them I sit here looking at named dragons like "damn it."). I recognize the majority doesn't care, but, man, that sure does make me a Spiders Georg.
Nah man I'm the same way tbh. There were some really pretty babs in the AH the other day but I didn't end up buying them because they were named :/ I mean don't get me wrong, I get WHY it's done and it bugs me too when my dragons end up with the Unnamed babies forever in the offspring list, but... yeah. So we can be Spiders Georg together lol
why are blueprints so expensive? -n- i thought they'd be a little cheaper considering making your own skins and accents seems like a super fun game mechanic, not an unreachable thing only for more experienced players, people willing to pay real cash money on the dragon game, and lucky people who catch one listed way too low by someone who can't price well. i guess it makes sense from the standpoint of the people who have to actually sift through all the entries but 10 dollars to make one accent on one dragon and 20 dollars for a skin seems steep to me. maybe it's cause i'm one of those people who's cheap when it comes to extras on games. idk.
@Deresto it is steep, which is the price you pay for exclusivity, I guess. I think this is why artists generally buy multi-copy blueprint packs of 5 or 10; an artist selling 10 accents at 500 gems each is making back the 2500 gem cost plus 2500 gems in profit. You don't have to spend cash to get gems. Selling cheap apparel and exalt fodder hatchlings for even single-digit amounts of gems adds up. If you can build up treasure capital and don't mind the tedium of MP sniping, you can snipe popular items on the MP and then resell in the AH for gems at a considerable markup.

@Deresto @Alska I've been 'playing the market' for a long time now. The most reliable way to get gems is to buy them with treasure from other players. The current going rate is around 660 - 680t per gem. You can usually find gem sellers in the 'Items for Sale' thread. Accents are a big money sync for richer players. I think the best way to make money on FR if you have artistic talent is to sell custom skins to or do dragon art commissions (I know the least about that side of the economy though). @rats That noodle is so beautiful..I'm jealous. I just hatched these children and I'm super proud of myself they are lovely midnight/midnight/splash babies. their tert matches the highlights of poison/tox PERFECTLY
Problem is, the only game that really works on my system is higher/lower so I am... Kind of limited in being able to hoard treasure, except by saving every month, grabbing holiday skins/familiars and selling them later lol. Besides, I am not much interested in gems except to get more familiars, because I hoard those like crazy, they are almost as good as pokemon to me(186 in the book so far- still mad that are some I will probably never be able to get). Also congrats on the babies! They're lovely!
I also snatched up two new babies for breed diversity and put some old ones out to pasture. Should see some pretty babies coming from these two and my other dragons!
@TheMockingCrows I checked what he looked like grown up and pretty much HAD to buy him XD He's so prettyyyyyy And since I had enough money on hand I just went ahead and paid full asking price, lol. :'D

What's your asking price on them, I WANT, and I have a midnight/aqua/seafoam PC girl who needs a boyfriend and a gene other than circuit but w/e and while the tert range isn't super nice yet because it's in Denim Hell it'll definitely improve when the wheel goes bloop.
