That's a Balrog over on the left, and Arien, bearer of the Sun on the right. I've seen some theories tossed around that Arien is the same kind-of-Maia as the Balrogs once were, so I was playing off of that. Also, I really wanted to draw an interpretation of a Balrog that wasn't boringass mcstockchristiandemon or a wholesale ripoff of Aaron Diaz (although his balrogs are awesome, go check them out). I'm pretty damn happy with how it turned out!
Working on bs hogwarts aus keeps me in school - so here's the inspired-by-the-shoebox-project version of me and some of my IRL friends if we were wizards. I drew this a few months ago, finished inking it the other day, and colored it that night. The big picture was actually originally a facebook picture of us at a wedding, I just messed with the stances and the clothes. (I have had all of those hairstyles. my least favorite was definitely year 3.) ((also like half of these are sideways. i am so sorry)) Spoiler: some of these faces pain me a lot. ah well. I went to the MFA yesterday It's been a while since I've been there to sketch statues. Since August, I think.

Tryna finish the inks for the page that's due out Wednesday. Last page of the chapter, and then we'll have a joke page or something and then six weeks to two months of not drawing pages, which is good because I'm procrastinating more and more* with them for reasons unknown to me. I'm pleased, esp. since I finally got to draw our murder robot again and I am a bit fond of the design. Spoiler: i should probably study anatomy and machinery more All I have left now is inking Chika (our heroine, in the background) annnnnd touching up a bit, and it'll be ready to pass to my sister for tones. Yay! *In case the fact that I am uploading a screencap of what I am drawing on Kintsugi at 1.30 my time instead of actually drawing which I am supposed to be doing right now didn't give it away.
