IT'S ANALYSING NUMBERS AND DATA AND THINGS. THAT'S CLOSE ENOUGH FOR ME, UNLESS YOU HAVE A BETTER WORD TO USE INSTEAD.

The thing about "analysing numbers and data and things" is that there are LOTS of ways to manipulate data that will be very convincing to people who don't actually understand how statistics and probability work. Particularly when it comes to deciding what data to collect and what data to exclude. It is incredibly easy to lie to people who don't understand advanced mathematics using these techniques.

(I may or may not have done it a few times to save my behind when I was dealing with the US Government. Large democracies breed bureaucracies and oligarchies, particularly in the presence of capitalism. These entities really like to get their hands on intelligent people and force them into situations where they just owe someone a few favours here and there, then suddenly you're helping them mind control Presidential candidates because your boyfriend can't stop lying to his wife and you would be amazed what sorts of bad advice sound good at times like these.

Idealistically I would really like to be opposed to dictatorships, but our dictator actually listens to me and it's a lot easier to convince him to do things than it is to convince a whole lot of lying assholes who have been bought and paid for several times over to convince the people who unwittingly elected them to do things. If I had actually tried to do what I wanted to do in America rather than Pennarion a bunch of assholes who make their money off fossil fuels would have bought up my patents and suppressed them so they could continue to poison the planet and get rich. Tainell...may or may not have shot a few assholes in the head. Fuck anyone who says you can't take down the master's house with the master's tools. Sometimes it's all you have to work with and you fly by the seat of your pants and swear you'll never take mathematical advice from a demon again while you go.)

PPS: The reason I told you not to have relationship talks and other sensitive talks during communal meals is that when you have discussions where other people can hear them, those other people may decide to repeat what they heard, offer their (usually incredibly unhelpful) input and throw fits when you say you don't want it, and attempt to manipulate you. And Papyrus? Manipulating you would be incredibly easy. All I'd have to do is tell you whatever I want you to do will prevent people dying.

It's a tyrant's prerogative to use as many question marks as they like. And reminding people how much worse they would have it without you... is a good way to get them resigned to you authority. Make it clear that you're doing what's necessary, and leave all the responsibility of coming up with a better way to the people who are complaining.

Make it clear who's doing something that matters, and who's just making noises. And they'll learn to stop complaining and questioning you... in the open.
