That is to say, it's a being with enough power to be a minor or even a fairly major god--though not a universe-creator, they're not creative sorts--that makes a habit of taking over any dimension it enters, terrifying and brutalising the mortals and demi-mortals (beings who can be killed, but don't die of old age) while amusing itself with cruel and ridiculous pranks.

They're very dangerous and the last thing you ever want to do is let one directly into your universe. Allowing them to possess you is also difficult because they will typically use all your resources in order to find a way to pierce holes in local spacetime and let themselves in directly, where they can assume physical form. Until they assume physical form, they can only affect you in dreams or on the astral plane; don't allow yourself to become sleep deprived near their binding-places, because microsleeps are their favourite time to attack--when you don't know you're not awake, but they do. If they make deals with you and break them you can get rid of them, but in general they need to be properly bound or banished.
