I am feeling better today than i was last night, but I think I'll take the time this week to catch up on game prep (and miscellaneous chores) rather than try to run a game. (among other things, I believe I still owe @whimsicalobservant a pair of powers to pick from) Hopefully that'll mean I have my feet more under me for next week so we can get back into it.

(Also all those presents are so adorable <3 Lemi loves dolls of cryptids and others creepies. Ummm my first instinct is that her camera is digital but I think I mentioned she has a dark room so film. And she would love that dress but she would be so scared to wear it, she doesn't think she looks good in feminine things)

Any ideas for where in the timeline Sera will... idk, get Internet access? Wake up? Hm.

Also, a thought: this is something that I've been meaning to ask for a bit, so, what if we each made little bullet point lists or summaries of the important points of what happened to our characters? I mean I'm planning on making one just so I can keep track of plot threads and what has lately traumatized Myrtha but a lot of the time I'm lost on what is happening with you guys. And it'd help Kathy catch up without needing to read through all of the logs.

 

That's a really good idea, @KarrinBlue! Okay, I'm doing this from memory so I might go through and double-check it later.

Spoiler: Leon's timeline

• Leon's entire apartment is filled with imps. He manages to fight some of them off, then Onryousprite screams at the remaining ones
• Leon explores his apartment building a little. He finds Tia's car still in its garage.
• Leon goes wandering on the highway and finds an abandoned convenience store. He picks up some bug snacks.
• At some point here, Leon builds up Lemi's house and gets her through her first gate, turning Nessiesprite into Nessievisionsprite in the process.
• Leon explores underneath his apartment building. He gets stuck inside a maintenance closet.
• Leon wanders off on the highway again, get accosted by seagulls, and ends up diving into the water. He learns to swim and also loses his clothes.
• He climbs into one of the sunken buildings, spots some basilisks, gets hurt by some fake grist, and resolves to sometime in the future return and plant clean clothes and food in the building. Future Leon is unimpressed.
• Leon receives a message from cloudedLychnobite, and over the course of the conversation we establish that she is a goblin currently hiding in the Furthest Ring with her friends after they failed their session. Leon promises to keep connected with them and try to bring them into their session.
• As he hides in a room and tries to eat his food, a huge storm forms outside and a ship crashes into the water. Leon narrowly avoids getting shredded by broken glass. He gets accosted by imps and ends up yelling 'FUCK OFF' at them, which actually works.
• Leon meets a survivor of the ship, the Steadfast Mechanic (Dersite). Somehow he manages to convince her not to kill him despite her hostile reaction roll.
• SM gets her hand cut off by a swinging fluorescent light. Leon sacrifices his shirt to staunch it, and in the process learns how to staunch wounds properly!
• SM and Leon attempt to leave. They run into a Valiant Librarian (Prospitian). Leon somehow manages to alienate her despite her friendly reaction roll. She attempts to fight SM, then runs.
• A Vinyl Basilisk appears. Leon manages to convince VL to come with him and SM.
• Everyone jumps out the window onto a table-raft.
• The Basilisk can swim.
• After a very long and very exhausting battle, Leon reaches the brink of death ... then wakes up, in clean clothes, back on the road a short distance away. No sign of either carapacian.
• Despondent, Leon returns home and falls asleep.

Spoiler: Myrtha's Timeline

EPISODE ONE

• Myrtha arrives in the Land of Wires and Whispers and discovers her house is full of Underlings. These are fought and beaten (though some issue is had with a few camping in the armory.)
• A few of these Underlings have the ability to stain stuff indigo, and so Myrtha's hair and skin now has some weird blue vitiligo-looking patches on it.
• The car is discovered to have been out of the garage, leaving tracks heading towards the river, probably.

EPISODE TWO

• Myrtha goes exploring, following the whispering telephone pole lines that are set into the landscape, taking various photos as she does so. It is then that she discovers that apparently the only form of weather LOWAW has is windstorms that toss the beads around. 20 minutes are spent sheltering from the beadstorm.
• Then, right when the storm is subsiding, voices start calling her name from over the dunes. When she starts heading back to her house, they start saying 'myrtha help us.' Yelling 'Who's there' gets no response, but when Myrtha continues heading back she hears 'Why do you turn your back on us, witch?' and 'help usssssss.' While talking to Ilmatar, Myrtha sees the message (apparently from Ilmatar's computer) 'help us myrtha help us,' though no such message is on Ilmatar's end.
• Upon returning home the asshole armory and bathroom underlings are dealt with. Desert-suitable wear is looked for, acquired, and a few disappointing alchemized rings are made. Thanks to Moss and the clouds of Skaia, an Amazon box containing desert-suitable goggles is found.
• Myrtha heads out into the desert, and starts singing Weird Al's Star Wars song and others to stop the creepy voices from getting to her, and in the process unlocks the Song mechanic way earlier than Wiwaxia expected.
• A few weird glass grids of unknown significance are found.
• A strange, cut-off looking telephone pole is found.
• A large basilisk is seen.

EPISODE THREE

• Myrtha chats with Leon and learns what a basilisk is.
• Myrtha meets a sort of friendly snake guy with arms, no legs, and poofy frills behind its head that warns her about a giclops heading their way. They hide in some broken rocks, she is informed that there is no place on LOWAW where you can hide standing up, and apparently Snake Friend has heard rumors that the monsters may be taking down the Whisper Lines
• Questioning this guy about voices in the dunes and someone called the Witch get 'above my pay grade.' Asking what his job is gets nothing, it is apparently classified. Asking about the glass grids makes the guy decide to leave quicklike, and the only information given is 'stay out of site, there's no good places to hide in the open, and LOWAW has its secrets.'
• Myrtha notices the (gl)Ass Basilisk and books it towards where the snakeguy slithered off to, which is unfortunately somewhere with not much cover.
• During some sneaking to avoid basilisks, Myrtha discovers an argument between two Prospitians where one has the other in a headlock and is demanding the return of some money. The headlocker (Finicky Peasant) is trying to find good farmland (in the middle of the blue desert) and the headlockee (Determined Traveller/Determined Thief) is stealing stuff. Stuff includes a wallet belonging to Myrtha's dad. Myrtha captures DT after he screams and bolts, but draws the attention of the basilisk. It is a teleporting basilisk.
• Myrtha and the helpful FP manage to kill the basilisk (with Myrtha getting fire in her face twice,) but DT is set on fire and dies after Myrtha pinned him to the rock to keep him from running off. This leads Myrtha to go full WITNESS ME and try and punch a basilisk to death. Somehow she doesn't die. Dad's Wallet is recovered, FP goes off to find farmland, and Myrtha is exhausted.
• While trekking back to her house, Myrtha falls into the ground. There is a series of tunnels networking under LOWAW, including a tunnel right under her house.

EPISODE FOUR

• In the tunnels, there are a lot of abandoned-looking pallets and boxes, plus loose wires, some of which are cracked. A bricked-up archway with cut wires going through it is discovered right underneath Myrtha's house with an odd symbol carved in the keystone. When Myrtha tries to take a photo of it, unreadable blue cursive is all over it, spreading in every direction. Trying to show this to anyone gets an uploading error. Talking to the door just gets different incomprehensible scribbles.
• Myrtha goes exploring and finds a crossway, heading through the right tunnel. Apparently the poles all over the Land are trees, as they have dead-looking roots full of rusty staples heading through the tunnels. A lich is found, temporarily fought, and then run away from.
• Myrtha heads back up to her house and discovers a pair of cute snake people in her living room. Unlike Snakeguy, these ones are quite polite and nice. Myrtha fulfills her role as a good host and offers food and tea, and also polearms, as the snake people (sirens) need weapons to defend their village. Twenty short spears are made and given to the snake people.
• The sirens suggest that she could find records about the land in the Underground, though there are 'other groups' active down there. They also reference statues to Nyx found in the Underground.
• Myrtha learns the Unsong of the Moth
• Myrtha falls asleep during the Derse Eclipse and floats off to the Furthest Ring, where she spends 6 hours.

EPISODE FIVE

• Myrtha wakes up and attempts to recreate the song that she heard in her dreams. This goes poorly to the tune of 'vomiting endless black ichor-tentacles' which are apparently the literal manifestation of the song sung wrong. Luckily Myrtha also knows the Unsong of the Moth and is able to save herself, after Lemi tells her that'll help (yay Hope bullshit!) Myrtha does not want to sleep ever again.
• Myrtha builds Ilmatar's house up to the first gate.

EPISODE SIX THUS FAR

• Myrtha goes to explore the Underground. Parental goats are not found.
• A Large Suspicious Grist Pile is found.
• Some artwork of Nyx is found - an impressive wall carving and a statue in an alcove. Oddly, there is another statue in the alcove, but it has been entirely stained blue and crushed.
• Myrtha finds a large box full of cobalt glass strain insulators, and takes some to see what she can alchemize them with.
• Myrtha finds a large room full of silent wires, and one wire which is neither silent nor whispering. It is taut when she is singing her Unsong, but when she stops it goes very slack.
• This also gets the attention of some monsters (two ogres, one imp.) She beats the two ogres barehanded. It's great.

Ugh I didn't mean to go that in-depth but whatever.
