The average adult female heart weighs between 8 and 10 ounces (or roughly 225-285g), which means McKenzie's heart would be worth somewhere between $9-11.5k. Disregarding the fact that without her heart she would not be able to continue her studies (synthetic heart transplants have been done, I believe, but I suspect that would cost more than the heart itself, even made of gold), that heart of gold would still not come close to the approximate yearly income of a stripper, which varies between $23k and $46k, depending on the source. So...I guess that means y'all aren't wrong!

wouldn't it make more sense to assume that the volume of the heart stays constant rather than the mass?
although that might cause problems with supporting it in the chest
