maybe once we get the rebel bases/supply station locations from tourmaline (her outro post said she'd send some to our ship, and cross check them with labradorite's records, we could go to one of them and find celestine in one?

I know she wasnt a 100% rebel, but maybe after helping us, she decided it's be safer to find us through the rebels, and also safer for her to stay with rebels?

@KarrinBlue I'm sorry, I don't want to force you to post or anything but you haven't even posted Opal just boarding the ship without thinking about it to unstall the rest of us and...
Look I can understand being stuck. And I don't know if you're trying to unstick yourself or not.
But right now we need either a "Opal boards the ship, maybe explicitly shelving any thoughts about consequences until there's time for falling apart" post, or a post that explicitly states that she'll stay behind.
My suggestion would be to start writing a post. Just without any end goal in mind. Try to feel out how Opal would act?
It's been a while and I'm concerned because you seem unhappy with our suggestions. If it feels like Opal wouldn't stay with the Pearls later on or no one can convince her to stay they can drop her off at the nearest convenient point and Opal can still claim to have been kidnapped. No one will force her to stay.

 

Ok but the issue is that none of those options are in character for Opal.

 

So... okay, she's essentially a servant class, even if she's slightly more independant than a Pearl.
And she's probably still panicking a bit over poofing her owner. I don't think it would be OOC for her to just follow the group until she can really think about what's going on but maybe i'm thinking she's Pearl-ier than she is.
If you think it's ooc for her to come along with the Pearls you can post that she'll stay behind. Or she can be on the ship and try to find a way to steal Red Topaz's gem from Citrine.

 

What would be in character for Opal? She's got a handful of options, based only on where her loyalties would lie.

Turning Rebel

1. Go with the Pearls.
2. Do not go with the Pearls, instead hiding from Homeworld society.
   
3. Do not go with the Pearls, join the rebellion on Homeworld.

Based on previous discussion, this would be out of character for her, so I suppose they are not really options.

Remaining Loyal to Homeworld

1. Attempt to stop the Pearls from leaving Homeworld.
2. Go with the Pearls, with the end goal of informing on them somehow. I believe this one has also been brought up, and was not an option.
3. Do not go with the Pearls, but also do not inform on them. Whether or not she reports anything to the authorities (kidnapping, mistreatment by Red Topaz, etc), she doesn't say where the Pearls are going.
4. Do not go with the Pearls, and immediately go to Homeworld authorities and tell them everything. (This may or may not include Red Topaz trying to fuse with her.)

Unsure of Her Loyalties

1. Return to Homeworld society while figuring out what she actually believes.
2. Go with the Pearls while figuring out what she actually believes.
3. Remain on Homeworld and hide from society while figuring out what she actually believes.

Loyal to Red Topaz

1. Go with the Pearls. Sole objective: try to get Red Topaz back.
2. Stay on Homeworld, report kidnapping to authorities.

Opal strikes me as being very level-headed, rational, and objective. We don't know what her actual thoughts on Red Topaz are, or why she decided to disincorporate her. She has so far been unconvinced of the rebels' ideals and complaints: does she think they are wrong, does she think they are crazy, or does she think they are stupid? She doesn't seem the type to stage a one-Gem assault on all of them, especially with Hematite, Citrine, and Spinel still there: that seems like a suicide mission. Though, if she felt truly stuck, there is significant evidence that the grand majority of the rebels do not believe in crushing other Gems, so she could disincorporate and avoid the decision entirely, for now - and perhaps wait until a better opportunity presents itself.

 

ITP Spinel attempts to be comforting, in her weird military-rebellious way.

(I'm saving the first time she sings for something relatively important but if someone engages her, this discussion might lead into it.)

Okay @KarrinBlue If you want Black Opal in on the rebellion she will have to join up with them another way. You've had enough chances to post with her, we've tried to brainstorm with you and you haven't even posted in the OOC thread to keep up a conversation about our offers or suggestions? And since you're stalling us all I'm gonna have to say, sorry, but Gray can't stay and wait around anymore the ship would be shot realistically by now.
This is not to say you're thrown out of the RP, but i am gonna forcibly resolve this situation of us being stalled by you not deciding on what to do with Opal and not posting as her by leaving that character behind.

 

I feel like Spinel is hi5ing Tektite and Lavender with her eyes right now. A victory for the rebellion!

she would probably join them in a heartbeat if they were like "also we will let you build things"
she would have reservations, of course, and still be like "but Amber and Safety"
but she would join anyway
