@Arxon but the water eyes are so DARK and her eyes are so BRIGHT *conflicted noises*EDIT: I think I'm going to go with lightning
Spoiler: Spoiler I'm so sorry, I should not be up this late, apparently. I read "miraculous" and my brain translated it to "kwami" ... I thought you were saying that the kwami for the peacock miraculous was the thing in the safe. You're right, it looks identical to the miraculous on the box and it's quite likely that's what it is. ...I'm just gonna ... go to sleep now....
Spoiler Plagg didn't mention anything about it either, and I think even Plagg would have been bound to notice or mention another authentic Miraculous just lying around. Unless he had reason not to say anything, of course, but then... well. that way lies Speculation.
In non-spoilerland, I just listened to the extended theme song and I loved it. it's so catchy and cheesy?? Chat sounds like he got straight out of n'sync or something and into the recording booth. I was laughing and calling them nerds until my son started singing about ladybug and now i'm sad ):
The thing that really pisses me off is people calling Volpina Chloe 2.0. Chloe has been in basically the entire season, has a lot of narcissistic traits, has caused, what, 10 akumas in 26 episodes? She also seems to honestly think she's pretty great - if that's a facade to mask low self-esteem it's an amazingly strong facade, which, again, is typical of narcissists. Volpina has been in one episode, tells grandoise lies in her civilian form that are basically on the same level of 'I'm close personal friends with Taylor Swift and she wrote a song about me', has simply not been given the screentime to get to WHY she acts the way she acts, and spends half the episode not in her right mind. How is Volpina on the same level as Chloe, or even worse than her like some people are honestly suggesting??
because she batted her eyelashes at adrien and he didnt look displeased like he does when chloé does it, and something something those who don't remember history something something? I'm grumpy about this because it's not been a week yet since i said i was happy with how drama free and chill this fandom was.
It's interesting that Marinette doesn't consider the song Jagged Stone wrote about Ladybug to be a song about her (Marinette). It might be that she was thinking in the context of Adrien liking Marinette, but it also reflects on how Marinette feels about Marinette versus Ladybug.
Q: Is it clear if Adrien actually has the same voice as Chat Noir, or was Ladybug just automatically assuming that whoever was in the bathroom was Adrien? The voice might be similar, but is it identical?
Okay, so Hawkmoth should have the same voice as whoever his civilian persona is, then. I've been trying to find who voices Gabriel Agreste in the French version and can't find the information. Anyone know?
Yeeeeah, there's a reason I headcanon Miraculous identities are actually partially obfuscated by magic, because while it's totally possible for someone to not notice someone they've never met but seen from a distance is someone they know well, Marinette/Ladybug and Adrian/Chat Noir spend waaaay too much time with each other in every identity for that to not register?
Also, I guess time for a fanart dump. Links to source after each art. Spoiler: Big images and spoilers Source Source Source
Fanfic idea: that MariChat trope where Chat just pops by every once in a while to hang out, but instead he hangs with her folks. Tom giving baking lessons to a teenager in a leather catsuit. Marinette coming home to Chat chatting in Mandarin with her mom over tea. Chat bringing Ladybug cookies that he baked with Tom. Marinette being half-exasperated and half pleased that her parents have someone else to parent when she wants to be alone.
So my sister Con linked me to an amnesia fic that turned out to be terrible (Marinette has an accident, loses consciousness and her memory of her civilian self, wakes up and declares that she's Ladybug in front of God and everybody, including Adrien, whom she instantly recognises as Chat Noir, and ... for some reason Adrien decides that this is due to the fact that she got a little bump on the head because there's no way she could really be Ladybug. No way!) and as a result I want good memory loss fic really, really badly. Found one so far! Monophobia, by the same person who wrote this AU where Chat Noir is on Le Papillon's side (it's fantastic, it's complete at five chapters, I want more). So we spent half an hour tossing amnesia fic ideas around: -What happens if we make her lose her memory of being Ladybug? Say she loses her Miraculous to a supervillain in a fight which she survives, secret intact, memory of being Ladybug gone (...hey, maybe that's a natural result of losing the Miraculous? That could be fun). So Paris is kind of a disaster, with Chat Noir doing his best by confiscating akuma-tised objects from supervillains, which means they don't have any power, but also like ... now he has a duffel bag full of dangerous cursed items stashed in a closet somewhere. And the jails are full of angry citizens in strange outfits. Meanwhile, Marinette discovers she has a latent talent for parkour and also keeps running into Chat Noir fighting supervillains and coming up with clever plans to help him out. Maybe Chat Noir starts to suspect her identity since she's not going to pains to hide that side of her from him, since she doesn't remember that he knew her as Ladybug, but if he confronts her to ask why she's fighting akuma without her Miraculous, she's completely confused. And then she magically gets her memory back in an emotionally intense scene (it's an amnesia fic, that's how it works) and they go save Tikki and everyone lives happily ever after, probably. -If she loses her memory of being Marinette, it seems like it would be more in-character for her to bail than to hang around protesting her innocence. So ... hobo!Ladybug, who doesn't knows she has a secret identity, and runs away from anyone who recognises her, and won't listen to Tikki when Tikki tells her who she is and to go home to her nice parents because ... I want hobo!Ladybug and I can make up a reason for that later. -If Chat Noir loses his memory of being Adrien he totally just plays along while completely not believing that he's actually who everyone thinks he is, and then sneaks out the window whenever Nathalie's not looking. Maybe he runs away entirely. Probably he doesn't actually care if he's Adrien or not because Adrien's dad is an icesickle and he's not allowed to climb on the roof of Adrien's house, therefore it's boring, therefore he's leaving. -A fic where Adrien forgets that he's Chat Noir would just be Marinette running around defeating supervillains while increasingly irritated and worried, while Adrien signs on as junior blogger under Alya now that he has time for a hobby. Ladybug keeps having to rescue him because he keeps running right into the middle of her battles with supervillains so he can get better videos/photos. -We also decided that the best fic is one where a supervillain wipes both their civilian identities from their minds, so we can have them be hobos together. I guess the story ends when they catch up with the mind-wiper, but before that they totally live under a bridge, or maybe in an abandoned building. There's no logic to this, I just want Ladybug and Chat Noir hiding out together, traumatised and suspicious of everyone else on the planet. Uh ... that got long. I'm gonna stop now even though I've just realised what potential for angst anterograde amnesia has. Also: Spoiler: I drew a thing Con's going to colour it and I'm going to colour her companion piece.
All I can think of is that Ranma 1/2 episode where Akane forgot all about Ranma and couldn't form any new memories of him.Only with a secret identity. "Hey, who's that chump on the billboard over there" says Chat Noir every time he and Ladybug pass by. "Adrien Agreste? Never heard of him." "That is what you said last time, and the time before that, and the time before that...."
I just finished re-reading the msscribe expose and. I can't stop thinking that Lila probably sockpuppets online. Not maliciously, probably! But it'd fit her 'pathological liar' thing.
