Spoiler well, it has been brought up (not Said Outright, but certainly strongly inferred), but it wasn't brought up by Davepeta...who doesn't seem to know anything about Jade's grimbark state. :/ and of course Jade has no idea.

Spoiler I feel like truly experiencing loneliness could certainly be part of a Space player's journey. I'm not sure I like the closed-endedness of it being the end of it. That seems ... immature. Like, if realizing your Aspect is on at least one level about self-realization, swinging the pendulum all the way to the side of hermit-ness isn't full self-realization, in my opinion. That's erroneous. Being whole when alone? Sure, that's a good realization. Thinking you have to be alone all the time? ... not so much. but i could be wrong! Sburb is a cruel mistress, after all.

Spoiler I view it less as you have to be lonely and more as...Loneliness and not-loneliness aren't really very different. In that neither actually is real. Which is generally how I interpret multiple selves in SBURB. All the Jades are Jade but they also aren't Jade. By being both Jade and not Jade there is no Jade. The realization of no Jade and no not-Jade is realizing what may be more accurate to call self. Though I still don't think it's self. Though again that's all personal interpretation, so of course people will view it differently from me. Also terrible multishipping is best.

Spoiler My read on the convo: alt!calliope continues to be cold and creepy and denying-of-agency and I do not like it one bit. Also, fucking up the green sun doesn't seem any wiser now than when Rose tried to do it in Cascade, even assuming she's not being played for a SUCKER Davepeta I think was more on the money, but clearly didn't know about the grimbark bit (Davesprite was asleep on the ship when that happened, IIRC) and alt!Calliope was too busy getting off on being mysterious and cagey and condescending and telling-people-what-to-do-but-not-why to tell Jade what even to be worried about, so the rest of the kids are gonna get grimbark jade fucking up their battle plans and it'll be all Alt!Calliope's fault (well, and vriskas, but what isn't vriska's fault?) I am pretty sure Jade and Alt!Calliope are dead wrong about being supposed to fall back - that strikes me as a lot of what Porrim was initially rebelling at with her title and then later coming around to realizing that it didn't have to be that way, our Calliope literally helped save a species just by being present (not active, sure, but not stepping back or being absent!) and also Jade is a fucking Witch I mean come on. Active af, and I hope Jade's not too demoralized to embrace that ere the end.
Spoiler: Yeah Alt!Calliope may be emphasizing her game mechanic role over anything else... because that is all she has, and all she has ever known the chance to be.
Spoiler: Meta narrative With Davepeta, Rose vs Jasprose, and now alt!Calliope, there's a meta theme going on. Something about how... being successful in the game means becoming part of the game. The only characters who feel fulfilled are the ones living their role; the sprites, the Jack who decides to focus again on payback, the Vriska and Meenah who measure themselves by what they have and take... The ones who don't, who hem and haw and hesitate, who are growing in awkward organic ways that may not lead to anything like satisfying development. Something about how the PEOPLE shouldn't expect to feel fulfilled, or like they've grown, or accomplished, or anything. That the goal, freedom from the game, means feeling uncertain forever. And yeah, agency is a good word for what it's about. Paradox Space and the game constantly funnel the characters' actions into certain paths, so the ones who don't match up die.
Okay vriska needs to lay the fuck off of dead vriska you both have grown, in different ways, and i was prepared to like both of you but for FUCKS sake AVriska, shut the fuck up this better not break meenah and Dvriska up
Hm, I ship Dave/Karkat/Jade/Terezi! Could definitely see Nepeta working in there too though. Honestly I love poly ships so much even if you end up with a lot of rarepairs as a result...
Can we leave rosemary at least its the only happy ship left cmon (I am so sad right now. this is the first time ive ever liked vriska, and they wreak it for me)
