Kittens are so pure. They are tiny, bite sized cinnamon rolls. So precious. It's too bad they are already getting too big to hold in one hand lol. But hopefully once their eyes open they will stop hissing at meee. I have never had a group of kittens that has hissed at me so much.
If you can't hold a kitten in one hand you just plain aren't trying hard enough. [/holds massive tuxedo cat with one arm all the time]
I am literally struggling to find words for the feelings evoked in me by new kittens. The one time I've had the honor to see them in person, within a week or so of birth, I just sat there the whole time going "...they're tiny cats... tiny cats!" over and over again like this was some grand revelation. Which in a way it was. I was really not emotionally prepared for the experience of holding an entire cat in the palm of my hand.
I don't think holding them with one arm counts as holding them in one hand xp I do that all the time with my big grey cat too- it's called the shame carry and I usually do it when I'm locking him in the bathroom or garage bc he was being a dick to one of the other cats. Note, he doesn't fight just gets up in their personal space and the other cat yells in protest. It's like the cat equivalent of "I'm not touching yooouuuu"
Usually when I do it with mine it's because I am literally juggling him and one of the other cats. So I scoop an arm under each of them and switch them at top speed.
Awww that's adorable c: unfortunately the only other cat I would pick up with him is Small Lady and she is not flexible like him so I need two hands to carry her comfortably. Comfortably for both of us, I mean, because while she is the sweetest bby, she has very sharp claws and is not mindful about them at all. What's fun is when you have a litter of just-walking kitties- you can carry all or at least most of them at once :D
two more vids one for all your holding the babies needs momma is a jealous momma she desires to hog my hand
@Starcrossedsky apologies if this is a weird question, but how many teats does the mama have? I know it varies among cats, and I'm wondering if she has enough that all the babies can drink at once.
I haven't done a *full inspection* but she does have enough, judging from the fact that when I went down for morning update they were all seemingly attached and quiet. I believe it's usually eight for cats.
I have returned with UPDATES! Two pics under the cut. One of the tabbies has opened its eyes! They are starting to get to the age where they do interesting things now rather than being lumpy. Also look at their momma she is so proud. Spoiler
ugh god I love that stage where they're a little beyond fuzzy jellybeans but haven't quite figured out what legs are for. Like when they try to wrestle and playfight but mostly just sort of end up rolling over each other.
