I've actually been talkig a bit with @Petra about awful MTMTE highschool AU Rodimus, Magnus and Drift are teachers. I'm not yet quite sure WHICH subjects, but they are definitly Hot Teacher, Strict Teacher and Cool Teacher Rodimus and Magnus are proper adults who secretly make out in the teacher's lounge. Cyclonus is an transfer student that joined class this year. He is grumpy and seems to hate everyone. Tailgate was a homeschooler up until this year. He and Cy used to play together when they were tiny. Tailgate totally thinks that means they are still bestest buds! Cy is equal levels horrified at sentences like "What do you MEAN the earth is older than 6000 years?!" and horrified at himself for thinking that Tailgate is cute Rung is the school's counselor. Everyone forgets he's in faculty meetings and no one ever gets his name right. But he's the best school counselor. Ratchet is the school nurse and may sometimes stare at Drift's butt occassionally. Out of strictly professional reasons, obviously. Brainstorm, Chromedome and Perceptor are in the Science club, aka Scary Mad Scientists Training Camp. Rewind is editor of the school newspaper. He's also an avid vlogger. He and Chromedome are probably engaged. Whirl is the school punk who is like. Always in trouble. Always. He is never not doing detention or something similar. Anyone got more suggestions? :D
@IvyLB thunderclash teaches the same subject as rodimus, and he is every student's favourite teacher. they graduated from the same school forever ago — thunderclash was valedictorian, and also the quarterback, and also the prom King. WAIT YOU HAVENT MET THUNDERS YET. BUT YOU WILL

It is universally agreed upon that Thunderclash is just a little bit hotter. He's very humble about it, though

Thunderclash/rodimus is the most ONE SIDED BLACKROM EVER thunderclash has no idea how bad rodimus wants to hate-bang him, and rodimus will never act on it because then he has to admit he thinks thunderclash is hot and then thunderclash wins Thunders just thinks rodimus is a slightly weird and aggressive but nice enough guy
I have this image in my head of the like prim and proper and very attractive politics teacher and Rodimus next to him, not wearing a tie, his dress shirt not buttoned all the way up in jeans instead of slacks glaring because HOW DARE HIS HAIR BE PERFECT
rodimus drops by thunderclash's classroom during lessons and tries to find something to loudly criticize — anything, he's desperate. Once he interrupted a lesson to talk shit about the colour of chalk thunderclash was using. It's embarrassing for everyone, but he keeps doing it.

prowl goes to the rival school. he tried to get chromedome to come to the same school as him, but his school is intensely strict and expensive and they wear very pretentious-looking uniforms and chromedome was like. nah i'll go to the other one actually. ETA: also he saw a cute guy with a camera while he was touring the other school soooo.... prowl spends the next four years trying to get the other school closed down
Now, SKIDS is our local obligatory case of teenage amnesia, it's all very tragic. He's also a super genius so he has enough time to be properly dramatic about his amnesia between getting ridiculously good grades.
And Swerve is pretty much still the same. geeks out about the school's sports celebrity (quarterback or should it be Track to make it properly transformers reminiscent?), wants to open a bar. Kind of the class clown and prankster.
