guys I think I win with weather this morning there was a hailstorm and scavengers love pile, yes good.
Spoiler: 46 I think actually part of it is that the Scavengers believed. We mostly see the upper ranks of the Decepticons in the rest of the series, but here were a bunch of the frontline grunts and they believed in the Decepticon cause, the original one. And sure, Fulcrum came back online with some of that techno-supremacy stuff still going through him, but lots of Autobots had that too. So the Scavengers are dealing with "we lost the war, and our leader denounced the cause, and we were wrong." But they still believe in the Decepticons as people. They thought they were the good guys, and they want to continue being good guys.
Spoiler: 45-46 I HAVE SO MUCH TO SAY ABOUT THE OMINOUS IMAGERY BUT I'LL WAIT UNTIL YOU'RE TOTALLY CAUGHT UP anyway YES this whole issue is just. golden. it's so good. "I think Pretendia's in Iacon." NO..... IT ISN'T...... "Fulcrum of Chinnex" and you know what i ship krok and fulcrum too now, like, upon re-reading this (again) i am now firmly in the 'shipping it' side of the scale. and also re: the mental health thing, i just. i'm so thankful for this comic because there's so much media that you consume while squashing down a part of yourself so that you can enjoy it, ignoring the reminders that 'oh yes most of the world is hostile to people like me, and media refuses to let me forget it' and mtmte has never made me feel like that. i've never felt like i was the butt of a joke or like there was something Wrong with me, and it's so bizarre and wonderful. and also really sad that mtmte is not the norm.
OH also speaking of the Scavengers, *casually pimps the most difficult cross-stitch I've done so far* I finally got that onto my wall, which is really exciting. PLUS on Monday I hung up Whirl in my cubicle, so now I have one Whirl watching over me at home and one Whirl at work, and Curlicuecal's Whirl papercraft just arrived in the mail. So I am drowning in my favorite robots and everything is wonderful.

Spoiler: 47 So one of my new favorite games in writing for transformers is finding the characters who think well of others, and using that as a big blind spot in their point of view. For example, Rodimus doesn't have a clue that Megatron and Optimus Prime were jockeying for his attention, because ????? He's the one who's lucky to be here, why would they do that? But my favorite, favorite one is Tailgate being so sure that Getaway told him he loved him, even though that's definitely not what happened. Because Getaway said 'there are people on this ship that I love,' and at that point, Tailgate really, honestly, truly thought the marriage proposal was sincere, so of course he parsed it as Getaway saying he loved him. That's what Getaway wanted. But even writing Tailgate dealing with the aftermath, he still has this big ol' cognitive hole where he can't see just how insincere so many of Getaway's actions were and still can't see all the ways he's been manipulated. If there's ever a decent in-story reason to correct his certainty that Getaway said he loved him, it's going to be a very nice ouch moment.
ALSO STILL REGARDING 47 Spoiler: 47 CAN WE JUST ADDRESS FOR A SECOND HOW MUCH TIME CYCLONUS CONSISTENTLY SPENDS AT TAILGATE'S SICKBED WAITING FOR HIM TO WAKE UP? LIKE FUCK PROBABLY THE ONLY REASON HE DIDN'T WAIT FOR TAILGATE TO GET OUT OF THE MEDIBAY AFTER THE THING WITH THE CYBERCROSIS WAS THE MIXTURE OF "ooh god this is a bit awkward i just accidentally a whole marriage and heprobably doesn't even know what do" and the fact that they pulled him in for the DC arc stuff in the Dead Universe HE IS GONNA ANNOY VELOCITY TO NO END I BET
Spoiler: mtmte 47 "I just accidentally a whole marriage" is quite possibly the best way to phrase that xD Also, CAN WE TALK ABOUT TAILGATE PUTTING THE PIECES TOGETHER AND REMEMBERING "HE JUST ACCIDENTALLY A WHOLE MARRIAGE"? Because oh wow that hit me right in the heart. Major props to whichever artist was in charge of that panel layout! I want their conversation about that to happen on-screen (on-page?) dammit.
