Now I'm imagining an AU where the ladyblog has a fanfic forum and i'm tearing up a little.

 

Lila has a sockpuppet that writes Ladybug/Chat Noir breakup angst fics and 4 more sockpuppets that fangirl her, y/n.

There are some pretty good fics on Ao3 about Marinette learning of the existence of Ladynoir shipfic and promptly freaking out.

Chloé writes very purple prosey fic where a thinly veiled version of herself becomes a Miraculous holder and is totally better than Ladybug and Chat Noir and then Ladybug falls in love with her because she's so awesome and then they totally kiss a lot, while Chat Noir bows out of the picture because she's just so great. There's three 10k+ chapters where Adrien and Ladybug fight for Not!Chloé's affections, and it's resolved with a threesome. In the end Not!Chloé defeats Hawkmoth single-handedly and he becomes one of her minio... friends.

Chloé doesn't have any sockpuppets. Sabrina, on the other hand....

ok, awful to double posting, but this is relevant to Fic: would marinette dupain-cheng and adrien agreste be into Pacific Rim, yes or no?

 

Given that they're both into a game that was partly inspired by/a tribute to Pacific Rim, I'd say yes.

I kind of want a fic where Ladybug and Chat Noir finally manage to confront Hawkmoth, only for Hawkmoth to reveal that he is Adrien's father and then the two of them just reenact the whole "I am your father" bit from Empire Strikes Back.
And meanwhile Marinette is just facepalming.
Except maybe without the hand-chopping.

I'm doing the thing where I have an idea for a story and then get mad because no one has written it yet. I've already seen two Adrien-gets-turned-into-a-cat AUs and I wasn't even looking, where's my Ladybird!Ladybug fic at?

 

There's at least one on AO3! And one Fruits Basket inspired AU where both Adrien and Mari turn. I'll see if I can find them for you.

My sister who's really into ML right now is also really into Star Wars so we wound up trying to cast the ML characters as SW characters. I wanted Adrien as Leia and Marinette as Luke, but my mom pointed out that you can cast Adrien as Luke - and really their personalities are a better match and then you can also do the Papillon-as-Vader thing - and Marinette as Leia, and then just rewrite the story to focus a lot more on Rebel Alliance shenanigans and less on the Jedi storyline. Anyway, it's hard to cast to maintain any two of canon personality, role in the story, and canon ship.

Random thoughts:

-Le Papillon would actually work better as Palpatine than Vader, in that he's the Big Bad who directs a bunch of mind-controlled Less Bads. So you could totally write a crossover where, for example, Rogercop is Vader and Sabrina is Luke, Chloé is a much more self-centered but still razor-witted Leia and you can fill Han's role to create the ship of your choice. Say ... Volpina? Because then you get Chloé<3<Lila, which seems less like a crackship the more I think about it.

-Actually Lila and Chloé both seem like they'd make a fun Han, with this blustering facade hiding feelings that they won't even admit they have to themselves. And sometimes it's not a facade and they really are the kind of person who shoots first without remorse.

-Actually I would kind of love to see a Ladybug-Marinette as Han and Adrien as Leia, which would make Chloé Luke and ... Mayor Bourgeois the Emperor? Hmmm.

Somebody come and explain to me how a SW/ML crossover would really work, because I'm spinning my wheels here.

 

i've just watched 26 eps of miraculous ladybug (stormy weather to origins: part 2), and read through the entire thread.

this show was rather frustrating at first, though, mostly 'cause no one was able to figure out anyone's else's secret identity, but...

Spoiler: spoilers for episodes 20 - 26 thereabouts + rambling all over the damn place

at least gabriel's father (so totally papillon/hawkmoth) seems to be getting a clue. and i probably shouldn't cheer for the villain, really, but if he's the only one with a brain in his head, well... i want him to use it. simply 'cause it's less frustrating that way.

anyway, yay plot stuff is happening! more miraculouses/kwamis!

ah... papill's kwami is so sad. and it's purple! nooroo feels! i want more nooroo!!!

and i'm wondering what papillon's powers are like when they're used by a good guy. 'cause getting other people to fight your fights for you and loosening their inhibitions really isn't that heroic a thing to do.

his homestuck classpect would totally be thief of breath, i think, 'cause i've been thinking about that one for a while (norm the genie in the weirdmageddon tango, yo!) and it has similar ethical problems to papillon's power. (ethical problems that i've put a lot of thought into resolving with norm the genie in the tango, btw, since, even though norm and papillon might both be thieves of breath, norm would care much more about being ethical about it.)

and i suppose adrien would be a prince of something, since his power is destruction. and marinette would be a sylph, 'cause her power is creation, of either light or heart, maybe?

also guitar villain is literally the lamest, dumbest name for a supervillain to ever be invented! like, seriously, jagged stone, you wanted everyone to call you that?

ah, i guess it's just more proof that people just aren't in their right mind when they're akumatized.

just... guitar villain, guitar villain, really?!

Guitar Villain is a ref to the video game Guitar Hero. Also, Paps seems to name the akumas.

 

I like the idea of Prince of Space or Doom Adrien purely for aesthetic reasons, but Time also works well, I Think, tho he fits the Space theme of being isolated. Marinette is probably Light, because of her luck? But space ALSO fits, because of Creation.

Grumble grumble I wanna draw a sburb AU so bad ):

 

Wrt Papillon's powers - you could give doctors super healing powers during a disaster, or give temporary powers to willing bystanders during a fight with a monster too powerful to take alone.

It's... complicated in the ethics department, but that's probably why Master Fu was worried enough to find holders for the Ladybug and black cat miraculous, and why Ladybug can cleanse Akumas in the first place. Like, if it's not in the hands of someone concerned with using the miraculous in a strictly heroic way, it goes Bad.

Also probably the reason why it was lost in the first place.
