Edit: shit shit shit I just looked at the cover, someone stop this ride cause I wanna get off.

JUST KIDDING I knew I was in for pain when I started this shit.

    Go for it!! :D

And later today I'll link to that Whirl meta I've mentioned a couple times. Sometimes you just don't click with a character (I never clicked with Metalhawk), but there's some interesting juicy stuff with Whirl that comes up in the pre-mtmte continuity and feeds into the current setting.

OKAY. Last Stand of the Wreckers text supplements. In four parts. Because there is a shit-ton of extra material in the trade, and it's all awesome. There are some stories, some psych profiles, and some extra meta material from the creators. I definitely recommend reading at least the Bullets, Out Of Bullets, and Zero Point stories. Spoilers for the whole miniseries throughout. Aaaaand now I have 34 pages of photographed pages to upload. Preemptive apologies for the quality, I just don't want to break my book's spine on my scanner. Hopefully it's all readable.

Edit: ps, of all the transformers comics I've bought, this trade is pretty much the best thing I've paid for. The comic itself is amazing, the text supplements are great, and there's a lot of extra art bundled with it too. This trade is a really excellent purchase if you can afford it.

Reading everyone's thoughts on 47 before I move on to 49 and it is all gold.

I'm good with plot arcs but shit with details - ADHD brain fucking me this time instead of saving me from spoilers. What exactly have Cyclonus and Tailgate done to "accidentally a whole marriage" (what a great phrase), I don't remember every detail of the cybercrosis thing. I assume the revelation was that Tailgate was dying, or was it the bomb thing? Or when they were out on Hedonia? Wow they have a lot of potential married moments.

applechime "well, you know, a very — a very crunchy person."

the first act: handholding as cyclonus sits by tailgate's deathbed and sings to him
the second act: tailgate admitting how frightened he is and begging cyclonus to stay
the third act: tailgate offering cyclonus the horn that he made
the fourth act: cyclonus showing his devotion by replenishing tailgate's spark with his

of course it's not ""official,"" but tailgate was explicitly thinking of those actions in the context of the ritual as they were running away, so boy's got wedding bells on the mind

    OH THAT MAKES SENSE.

These random one or two panel flashbacks mess me up every time.

They actually weren't proper flashbacks, even! They were framed that way, and they flow naturally from what was shown in actual canon, but they were memories that didn't show up on the page explicitly

Oh, before I forget about it, Whirl meta! (major spoilers up through MTMTE 47)

It goes in chronological order, not time order, since there are various flashbacks and time shenanigans and points of exposition in terms of the actual comics issues. In particular, there's some interesting stuff to do with his life before the war

In the flashback arc, we see Whirl in jail without too much discussion about how he got there. One of the later pre-mtmte comics went into greater detail about the actions Whirl was forced to take as a pawn of the corrupt senate, and some of the sociopolitical fallout from that, especially with regards to Orion Pax, some of which gets discussed here.

I don't know if anyone ever really mentions what the Sweeps are, but remember how in MTMTE 1, Whirl is talking to a lot of dismembered corpses? Those are all zombie clones of this one dude named Scourge who was one of Cyclonus's only crewmates to survive the dead universe. The zombie clones made up the bulk of Galvatron's army and were only kinda sentient, and most/all of them died in the last great battle on Cybertron

I-- I'm too weak. I can't go on. I can only make it through a quarter season of the old cartoon tops before my brain peaces out.

On the other hand, my bed is covered with an unreasonably large number of comic books, I have brought up wikipedia, my one true constant love, and I'm ready to write about Prowl and personality disorders, with some mothafucking citations

Goddamn, that was some masterful meta. I'm not sure I agree 100% with the interpretation, but it raises a lot of good points and is definitely good for thought.

Just realized that I forgot to put in my liveblog: 47 absolutely made me like him. Characters who screw up and try to make good are my bulletproof kink.
