So query: how canon is Tailgate's cameo in the ExRiD annual? Because that puts a very strong constraint on the timeline of the first Ark's launching.

Breaking news, "medicine" by daughter is a very CDRW song

Pick it up, pick it all up.
    And start again.
    You've got a second chance,
    you could go home.
    [...]
    You've got a warm heart,
    you've got a beautiful brain
    But it's disintegrating,
    from all the medicine
    [...]
    You could still be,
    what you want to.
    What you said you were,
    when I met you.
    when you met me.
    when I met you.

If that isn't a song about mnemosurgery/CD's mental health/rewind gently telling him to shape up or ship the fuck out then IDK WHAT IT IS)

(It is also on my 'go to sleep' playlist, which I will now continue attempting to do)

Goddammit, why is Getaway so handsome sometimes?

    getaway.jpg

I was minding my own business, referencing something else, and BAM, this gorgeous fucker. WHY IS HE SO PRETTY, HE DOESN'T HARDLY HAVE A FACE, though uh. On further reflection, I guess a lot of my other faves don't either. And just look at those big mournful puppy dog eyes. Why has this series changed my standards so much for what makes characters attractive.

Man, I really want to try getting properly into his head, but I don't know what to write :T

i'm. i'm weak to getaway. his design is so so aesthetically appealing.... he has kitty ears....

there are quite frankly an alarming number of essentially faceless characters that i think are babes. CD, brainstorm*, getaway, whirl, atomizer, OP*, [edit: i can't lie, not to you, not to myself, so i added:] spinister.... what has this comic done to me

    *facelessness varies

I don't mind maskless Optimus Prime in TFP or TFA, but man.... whenever it happens in the comics, it weirds me out. I like him with the mask SO much better. Also, agreeing with you lots and lots on those characters. I've also got a lot of weird affection for Krok's design. It's like... not very pretty, but it's cute in a dadly way, and he's a genericon and he looks like he was designed without much care. It's like the ugly cute of robots.

Slash ex-RiD has made me fall for Soundwave so hard, oh my gosh

    100% SAME TBH.....

the mask is... it is good, it makes him Mysterious and Handsome. i have never seen a handsome maskless comic-verse OP, which is a TRAGEDY!! like. get it together, people, many of you are clearly capable of drawing handsome robots, and if you're not going to use those handsome robot skills to draw Optimus "Hot Dad" Prime with a good face, then.... what is even the point??

(also: i, too, am fond of krok's Weird Face. it is so strange)
(also also: i cannot wait to grow fond of soundwave. when does he start being important.....? he is like. 70% of the reason i want to slog through exrid...)

He's important from the start! A lot of it tends to be in... quieter ways, for a while. But since MTMTE and ex-RiD start with everyone thinking Megatron is dead, Soundwave is one of the highest-ranking Decepticons around and has a very unique skillset and hella HELLA loyalty to the Decepticon cause. I only started finding him swoonworthy in the post-DC story, but now that I've got a better grasp of his character, I need to go back and reread from the beginning.

eta: alsoooooo I totally just looked at the wiki to remind myself of a few things and I FORGOT HE WAS ABOUT TO BE LOBOTOMIZED! I spy with my little eye something beginning with ANOTHER MUTHAFUCKING TREPAN STORY :DDDD With bonus emotionally manipulated Chromedome, for maximum joy :3c

I actually tend to like the masked robot designs better. Especially OP, but even the other ones. Like Brainstorm without the mask wanders into my uncanny valley, and not in the good way. The only exceptions are bots like Nautica, whose facial expressions are a key part of her character.

The ship is supposedly about 15 miles long and 10 miles across, but that's probably not consistent due to comic-book scaling rules.

    ..... *googles miles to km*

....that is very very large. i'm looking at my area in google maps aaand.... if the LL parked itself here i believe it would crush my neighbourhood (and dozens of others), the entire downtown, both major universities, most of our bus stations, parliament hill, aaand a teeny little corner of quebec.

If you look at MTMTE 32, you can see chunks of the interior. It suggests maybe 20-ish stories, each of them about Magnus tall. That gives a different estimate for how big the ship is.

    BAM

G-rated whirlgate is a go! The concept you gave me to start from was great, but then I had a ton of fun finding a Whirl voice too, so this was a really enjoyable fic to write. And now I can go read your fic! I've had the tab open all afternoon, but I knew I had to spit this out first, or I'd get distracted and never finish it :V
