Lexicon: the encyclopedia roleplaying game

I want to play a game of Lexicon. (Probably the telephone-keypad variant.) You can find this game's Wikidot here.

Because of the nature of this game, people can freely jump in and out at any time! PM me your email address (as well as a note that it's for Lexicon) and I will send you an invite.

Rules for turn 2:
This turn, each one of you needs to write an entry (one to five paragraphs long) with a name that starts with the letters D, E, or F. Inside this article, you need to make links to one page that was already written in an earlier turn, and two pages that don't exist yet and are further in the alphabet. (Don't create those pages now - you, or someone else, will create them on a later turn.) "The" does not count for the first letters of an entry; neither does "A". For instance, an article titled "The New York Gazette" would be filed under N, not T.

If at all possible, try to create a page that has already been linked to by someone who is not you. If you honestly don't have any ideas and need to write a different one, that's fine; but you should try to write a linked page first. You are not allowed to write an article that you made the link for on a previous turn.

Post a link to your article here once you've written it, so we can coo over it and speculate and stuff.

So far I'm thinking one-week turns should be good. Still not sure what kind of setting we should use though.

I'm a newb btw. But it seems cool

 

So, here are some ideas for what our game could be:

- A cyberpunk/biopunk something. The incident being documented here is when a bunch of uplifted parrots broke out of something called Albrecht Facility. (The name just dumped itself into my head.)
- 1920s/1930s, in that weird liminal space between steampunk and dieselpunk; someone manages to figure out how to use wireless telegraph systems to take over the systems of a popular type of passenger zeppelin. Dozens of zeppelins are lost. Shenanigans ensue.
- Kintsugi in Space. Mostly including this for completeness.
- Kintsugi in High Fantasy. Five races, wizards, questing knights, the whole nine yards. Presumably an AU of Kintsugi in Space.

Do you have any preferences? If you have any other ideas, please let me know.

 

(raises hand) I don't have any of the context of existing Kintsugi in Space, so I'd rather not do that one.

Oh, I'll be offline (not by my will, we're going to new hampshire) Sunday evening/Monday day for part of it.
So I might be slow to respond for part of it? I don't know.

I'm game for any scenario except Kintsugi in Space, just because I know nothing about it.

 

Yeah, I'll also be out of town Sunday/Monday.

 

I'll be here most of Saturday and all of Sunday, but I'm on GMT+2 time. I'll try my best for all scenarios, but I don't know anything about Kintsugi in Space.

 

Mmhm. The turns will be a week long, so being out of town for the weekend shouldn't be a hindrance, assuming you can write during the week.

And I'm open for new players at any point! You can join now if you like, or you can join later.

So far it's looking like zeppelinverse carries the day. I'll probably go with that one unless someone makes a compelling argument otherwise.
