Boat Trolls planning thread! (full of spoilers, non-players enter at your own risk)

okay i finally figured out how to phrase the general effect: erskin has just done the equivalent of wheeling out of the ICU... in sexy vampire drag.

 

also i think it just hit me, erskin isn't the beloved captain trope like in action shows, he's the favorite principal, like in highschool. like, the cool young principal that actually gives a fuck about his job and will also let you do silly things to him for fundraisers, and doesn't condescend or bullshit even to the sixth graders, and who cusses like an actual person during assemblies and then tells you not to tell your parents he just did that. like, yes he's an authority, yes he uses that authority, and yes if you do destructive shit you're gonna answer to him about it, but also, you will mostly feel bad because you kind of wanted to be friends with the dude, and now he's disappointed in you.

 

idk if that's very trollish, it certainly wouldn't be overtly sincere applause— it'd be mixed with a lot of whooping and whistles and catcalls? a lot of good natured jeering and rudeness. erskin's crew isn't very respectful with each other or their bosses, the way bel would be used to from rigid hierarchies.

my favorite way to write trolls is that they're ornery little shits whenever possible, as hard as possible.

 

yeah, i was thinking, i'm sure erskin would be getting bought a lot of drinks from everyone! would it be more fun to play him getting totally wasted, or handing them off to bel and getting him totally wasted, or what?

(the idea of erskin coming back all sleepy to lainey's place with a cuddly and out-of-it bel and all of them snoozing together is pretty cute in my head tho)

yep. i figure a seadweller's liver-equivalent can probably take a lot of abuse. 'we cut a shark open and it was digesting a bicycle' kind of abuse. regular and human-flavor erskins are adorable lightweights, but now that captain aspera's out of his small and innocent adolescent period he can probably drink turpentine like it's a hard lemonade.

 

would this be a possible time to hook them up with murfey for a fling, or would it be cruel to the dude? or would it be a situation murfey wouldn't go for because they'd be enthusiastically ready to make a lot of bad decisions, and he'd be sober.

 

that could be cute. i feel like an evening getting cargoed is not complete without enthusiastic bad decisions like asking for threesomes.

erskin: ...why wouldn't we have
