God is a word. Like all words it has no strict definition. Not sure why you're more qualified to define what a "god" is or isn't. Not anymore than the rest of the idiots who speak.

No. A lot of Jewish people have been known to say that. I would imagine it's spectacularly unpopular with polytheists, but monotheism and henotheism aren't that rare in the multiverse.

I'm an academic, and at least in terms of academic discourse, there has to be some sort of consensus regarding the meanings of words--without it, there's no real communication. In the area of interdimensional studies we usually define a god or deity as an entity that existed in a given universe prior to the existence of mortal sapient life forms which is immortal and does not depend upon any form of support from mortal beings in order to survive. If something requires mortals to worship it in order to remain in existence, for example, it may call itself a god, but it's really just a glorified thought-form that's drawing its energy from mortals

In general, the word 'god' is almost as problematic as the word 'magic'. (My students learn very quickly not to explain things by saying 'it's magic'. Most people use 'magic' as a shorthand method of saying 'I don't actually have any idea what chain of actions and events led to this result.')
