oh god and also i unlocked wheat country (which my brain keeps insisting on spelling "Weed" country fucking hell, why (bc it happened yesterday, most likely.)) and my own store! And now I'm wondering if the own store is exceptionally useful compared to just selling shit to the other vendors? I mean I GUESS I'll use it for the days when no vendors are in town, at least.

 

It is useful! You can stock a LOT of things in it, and the amount they sell for will not drop in return like they would if you sell too many in a row to a country vendor.

You can also leave it open overnight and just keep adding stuff to it during super busy seasons.

memo to self: chop stuff when it's raining outside. That's also when you have time to chop stuff because you haven't spent half the day watering your crops

i look forward to the time slowing jewellery set from year 3. fertilizing also takes a lot of time, but that stops at some point because youve got all the stuff on 5 stars (tea and fruit trees drop in quality if you dont continue fertilizing them, i'd have to see whether they drop below planting fruit quality tho)

 

i'm going to leave the store for when i've unlocked all the stuff you can unlock from the vendors, heh.

(also: i'm building a greenhouse, because the waifu likes soybean salad best and for soybean salad i need cabbage, and i dont have any more cabbage, and cabbage only grows in spring and im currently near the end of summer.) (i can also grow potatos there i need to ship 500 potatos to wheat country to unlock the other kind of potato)

hm, is it possible you kinda need two dogs? one for the barns and one for the coop?

 

Mhm! You can also have your limit of pets on BOTH sides of your farm!

also, I've yet to accidentally hit any animals, but I keep forgetting them out overnight and leaving them to get rained on

 

things get easier once you can make the TV set, far as weather goes. and I haven't played in a long while bc I couldn't unlock tropical or ice and got upset bc I forgot what I needed to do or where I was progress-wise and my brain went " DDDDDDDD: "

 

I just want bananas and chocolate, but nooooo, you have to ship thousands of recipes and hundreds of clothes >:O probably going to be in year 5 by the time I get there, though at least I have ice country.

 

:o to get chocolate you can get it easier by giving enough flowers to the lil goddess in her pond. she gives you a cocoa eventually that you can seed.

 

vesture isnt actually clothes! it's a dumb word that was chosen, but if you check your shipping log, vesture apparently refers to crops.

right I was trying not to spoil myself and to try and figure things out ~naturally~, but I just lost three in-game weeks of progress. any tips for getting back to where I was quickly?

 

D:: that sucks. i hope your ds gets found!!

my tips are, buy every bit of fertilizer otmar sells, and i mean EVERY bit, don't sell your wool, don't sell twigs or weeds you'll need them, trust me, there's not enough fertilizer for everything.
only fertilize one row of single-harvest crops but fertilize them daily, and fertilize every multi-harvest crop. take full care of your animals daily and don't forget them overnight.
upgrade your tools ASAP, starting with the watering can, then brush, milker, axe, clipper, sickle, etc. once youve got the safari, the tool you upgrade after the watering can is the hammer. go to the safari daily if you can, and take animals. those animals will be back in their barns/coops when you've returned.
sewing shed + flax & wool are money printes, so is the pottery shed. but you want to build the seedmaker first, that one enables you to really boost the quality of your crops (and makes fertilizer)
ONLY ship wool / wool fabric if you get a blueprint or pattern for it. seriously. you need *so much* of it, and the yarn cabin country sells is too low quality for the requests. the yarn you get from requests is one full star so it suffices for the one-star requests, but you don't get much.
build the kitchen as early as you can.
multiple storage units actually mean more storage space (yay!), unlike in animal crossing where it means more places to access the storage space from (curse you animal crossing).

fogu, thonky, and gamefaq are your friend.
gamefaq has an almost complete list of secret ingredients, thonky has complete gift preferences, and fogu has everything else.
i'm also keeping two private cheat sheets where i keep lists on quick access (gift preferences with a chosen few items i have/can make, stuff i can craft but still need stuff for, what to ship to different countries to unlock new stuff...)

Also, since I can't seem to find a comprehensive list of what kind of foodstuffs the wild animals like, I've started a google docs everyone with the link can edit. Feel free to test and expand! Please do not vandalize it.

On an unrelated note: I built a greenhouse, because it's the end of summer and I really need spring crops.
This is ridiculous, and I hope there's no limit on how many greenhouses you can build (although it needs 8 white wool fabric, sheesh talk about expensive), because it's MUCH bigger on the inside. like, no four fields outside large, but there's 15 inside. i'm going to build at least three more of those and move all my crops there.

That's still an absolutely preposterous amount of space.

I know I can plant trees in the ferris wheel, but idk if i can plant trees in the greenhouse? hm, worth investigating.
