Ratchet cemented his place as my absolute favourite pretty early on, but I've ended up getting attached to nearly everyone who's had focus (apart from Getaway, for obvious reasons.) Rodimus also gets points for being a whole mess of character traits I generally loathe and then being really sympathetic. As for ships, I've kind of ended up shipping Cyclonus <> Whirl? I know they canonically hate each other but they also keep having what I can only see as feelings jams, so... And this thread's convinced me on Megatron/Rodimus

I'm pretty sure it was the lacking-resources thing! I'm blanking on where exactly things were said, but I think it was strongly implied that managing to scrape together the fuel, etc. to get even Windblade, Nautica, and Chromia off-planet was a pretty huge deal omg, I know, right?? I want more of these two clashing. It's such a breath of fresh air, especially since Windblade's attitude doesn't make 'who's the main boss person?' the end-all-be-all, which is such a boring way to do politics.
Yeah, post-Combiner Wars Windblade gets into it more (and also, I love Knock Out, I can't wait to start the cartoons and see him there too) and they mention not being able to expand at all really because of the resource issues. Which makes sense! It's really fascinating how the different colonies shift in focus and developed. (And even though I know it's because of meta sexism in comics reasons, I am laughing myself silly over how many of the colonies have women when Cybertron was Male Mechs All The Time.)
I think I've read every Prowl/Jazz and Megarod fic that was even the tiny bit interesting sounding. Help. Also I love all the megarod art and am sad most of the fandom content for them is art.
