All Aboard the Floating Dumpster: Trash Ships Ahoy

@Ruevian 's spring-autumn relationship thing reminded me of my fuddy-duddy professor/energetic youngster relationship thing, which reminded me of my Rule 63 Indiana Jones/Marion Ravenwood ship. Funny thing is I don't care about canon Indiana/Marion - this happened because when I was watching Raiders of the Lost Ark for the first time one of my siblings started grumbling that everything would be much more interesting if they swapped the main characters. So I started considering what a genderswapped Indiana and Marion would be like, at which point my brain went WOW! HOT a What (yes, skeevy backstory and all) and so now that is ... a thing. Which I ship.

 

I have the mightiest of needs for your fancast for this because yes.

 

Iiiiii have not fancast because I am not very good at that, but I absolutely have looked at screencaps and tried to draw Harrison Ford as a lady and Karen Allen as a man.

I could totally cast a k-drama version, though. Uhm Jung-hwa and Park Seo-joon have already played a workaholic older woman/emotionally compromised younger man couple, but I feel like Lee Bo-young would make a better Indiana (she does the detached businesslike don't-get-your-messy-emotions-all-over-me thing really well) and ... she's already played a couple with Lee Jong-suk and they had fantastic chemistry and he's good at everything, but now that I think about it I want Song Joong-ki as Marion because he would be really good at layering tough-as-nails on top of a simmering volcano of emotion on top of a core of pure determined I-get-what-I-want.

I'm thinking way too hard about this and now I'm going to cry until I get to see Lee Bo-young and Song Joong-ki star in a drama together.

 

Condy/GHB in any quadrant is perfect and beautiful. buff problematic assholes egg each other on to terrible things and encourage each othere's worst qualities. mmmm. pls imagine them braiding each other's ridiculous hair and talking about torture techniques instead of having a reasonable pile like reasonable trolls.

EDIT: actually have you seen that one pic where they're together and ghb is making condy laugh by playing with summoner's severed horns? perf.

 

My fave depiction of condy <> GHB is in birchbow's "Price of Forgiveness" fanfic. CONSTANT dirty diamonds and vacillation, I'm way into it. Two terrible ancient assholes who can't help but care about each other.

 

@Ruevian YES YES YES!!!!! i fucking LOVE price of forgiveness. there is nothing about price of forgiveness i don't love goddd. the condykat too mmmmmmm. condy and ghb are both so perfect in that fic. i especially love the "listen kids, when you're a bajillion years old who gives a witches frozen tit about quadrants???" vibe because lmao tru. after you've known someone that long it's like boundaries? lmao what boundaries.

if you haven't read pof read it. it's mostly ghb<3gamzee<>karkat actually but the side ships are all great too.

there's so little good condykat specific fic though. i can think of maybe one off the top of my head and it's short. anyone got any recs?

Y'know, teacher/student is usually not my jam but I ship Po/Shifu so hard it's not funny. (And so few other people do. Bah. Tigress is awesome enough as a single lady!)

 

I love teacher/student so fucking much. SO MUCH. Though mostly just as a thing to fantasize about. There's no real ships I can think of in that field that I go mad for. Closest is the couple from Junsui Adolescence but it's an affair with the high school nurse. Not a teacher. Though one of the teachers has dated one of her teachers when she was a high schooler. Was mostly just used as a sexy distraction by her professor who crushed her after she graduated and wanted to continue the relationship. So she acts as a voice of caution and reason to the main couple, who do manage to salvage their relationship past graduation. Girls involved are right up on graduation's dick too. Not just freshmen or something.
