character notes:

• none gender with left feminine?? is capable of passing off as a scrawny dude instead of a scrawny dudette, and has for scams in the past
• tentatively named terri after tiresias
• hella sun damage
• hair was bleached up a few shades to a light brown for ??? who knows, probably something sketchy - naturally black hair, roots are starting to show a lil
• ambiguous everything - gender, ethnicity, country of origin......
• would be a fucking boss actor if they actually settled down anywhere ever - maybe one day???
• makes ends meet by thievery (papa hermes is proud), can hotwire cars and break into almost anything
• fast 'n' sneaky af, skilled in hand-to-hand in an eclectic, untrained sorta way
• fairly smart, but never really had any formal schooling past elementary/middle school - more street smart than anything else
• can accomplish a disturbing amount of things with a hanger, a shoelace, and a screwdriver
• grew up in a big city with an overworked overstressed monster-bothered single mom, ran away around the age of 12 and never looked back
• innate sense of direction - always knows where to go even if they don't know why, always knows which way is north, always knows exactly which alleyways and back roads and shortcuts are the most convenient for their purposes. . .
• kinda scarred and scratched up, but surprisingly not badly - they r very good at avoiding conflict
• surprisingly undamaged emotionally??? or at least appears so
• is the kind of person who will slap a bandaid over literally any cut or bruise and shrug "that's good enough, w/e"
• deadpan snarker, but in a cheeky, cheerful sorta way

(also i wanna draw all yall's characters but like........the anime doll creator thing....................is pretty homogenous :uu i like being able to know what distinguishing characteristics OCs have before i draw them #rip so if anyone is interested.....!)

Um, if you wanna draw Larkspur, she's got sorta a pointy, upturned nose, if she's blushing her whole damn face is blushing, she's got mega eyelashes, and probably dark circles under her eyes from messy eyeliner. Also, she has Acey hair. That's probs obvious from the dollmaker.

Adara has an upturned, slightly rounded nose, long eyelashes and slightly larger than average round eyes that are actually bright orange, a pointy chin and high cheekbones. and she tends to wear crop tops, because she likes those, if that is at all relevant.

 

my boreas kid, whose name i haven't decided yet:

• has incredible cold tolerance. almost never needs a jacket; carries one around anyway so they can lend it to people so they'll shut up about being cold
• is nb; i haven't decided their agab yet
• can always tell where north is
• loves learning things but sucks at reading (obviously) so is almost always listening to audiobooks or podcasts.
• chaos happens; boreas kid removes one earbud "what"
• weapon is a swiss army knife type thing but with some extra demigod-specific tools. idk what exactly yet
• won't tell people their last name; changes their backstory every time someone asks them
• "so how did you find out you're a demigod?" "You know, I got attacked by some evil mutant chickens and one of them mentioned this place so i caught a train here with the last of my money" "but you told so-and-so that you killed three Hyperboreans and hitchhiked here" "listen here you can't prove shit and you know it"
• the truth is that their mom was abusive so they ran away and while they were running away they ran into some kids on a quest and got roped into helping because they saw whatever monsters attacked them. this was long enough ago that no one really remembers; the kids they helped out left a couple years ago at least
• they haven't been on a quest yet but they don't really care either way
• constantly complains about having a weapon with basically no reach whatsoever but doesn't ever do anything about it
• sucks at capture the flag

Adara:

• can shadow travel and raise skeletons to fight for her, but only two skeletons at a time, they come up through a crack in the ground and though she doesn't know for sure she presumes they come from the Underworld
• weapon is the Stygian Iron dagger mentioned before, it's not charmed and she wears it on her belt at all times
• has a knit beanie given to her by her father that can turn her invisible; he gave this to her on her ninth birthday, when he told her who she was, what the monsters were, why they were showing up, and about camp
• has mild paranoia about monsters getting into the camp, because she considers the camp a safe haven, which is something she's never had before and she's paranoid that it's going to be taken away
• has never been on a quest and likes it that way
• has a fear of her mother finding her and dragging her back home
• tells everyone her mom's dead, has managed to play out a full act with tears and a sob story about a monster (she doesn't know what the monster was, duh, she was too little to know at the time!) killing her mom in front of her so no one questions her about it anymore
• made it to camp mostly by sheer dumb luck; her dad told her it was in New York but beyond that she didn't really know where she was going and just kind of stumbled upon it
• originally from Seattle, Washington
• was nine when monsters started showing up, ran away shortly after, arrived at camp about half a year later after she turned ten, doesn't talk about that half year (it was full of monsters and being hungry and cold and scared most of the time and she doesn't like to remember it)
• doesn't talk about what her home life was like, but if pressed she'll make up stories about how great her mom was (this is, of course, a total lie)
• short, about 4'11", and skinny, gets cold easily and loves summer because she can wear crop tops and warm herself in the sun
• is a giant nerd and loves reading, even though it's a huge struggle for her to read; she also really likes music and will often be found wandering around with earbuds in or a book in one hand (she reads and walks at the same time a lot, which leads to her bumping into people, things, tripping over stuff...)
• as a result of the walking into people while reading and similar incidents, she's in the infirmary very often for things like "well I didn't look where I was going and I tripped and now I have a cut on my forehead that needs stitches because there was a rock right where I fell..."
• despite this, she's actually very graceful and daring in battle, and likes to get in her enemies' personal space to stab them
• she can be a little reckless in fights, because fear drives her to try and kill the thing as fast as possible, so she'll just attack until it's dead no matter what damage she might sustain
• outside of that, she's a pretty cheerful person, although also rather quiet
• she dresses in bright colors to try and avoid giving off the 'I am a Hades child, doom and gloom follows me' vibe, because she hates that vibe and wants friends and doesn't want to be avoided for being a Hades kid
• she has a fidget ring that she wears on her right hand, and she got her piercings done when she was twelve, by another kid in camp

Larkspur facts!
the only member of her family she gets along/remains in contact with is her much older stepsister
her dad is overprotective to a horrifying level
her stepmom is intentionally oblivious
her stepsister has long since peaced out and has her own apartment, somewhere in new york
she is very gay
this is the reason she ran away from home as a child
she dyed her hair as a sign that she was her own person, and kept it up when she realized she actually liked it
her favorite book series is Circle of Magic by Tamora Pierce
and her favorite character is Rosethorn
she learned how to apply makeup from youtube videos
before she got to camp, said makeup was all obtained by her sister for her, since she wasn't allowed near it
when she ran away from home, she took some bread, her makeup, her books, some clothing she'd bought on her own, and a cactus. The cactus is named Briar.
she didn't have a plan when she ran away, until her mother claimed her and told her where to go
she nearly died like ten times on the way there and would like to Not Talk About It.
her staff was a much belated birthday gift from Demeter
larkspur was really happy with it, up until the nagging from her started and she realized the godly section of her family was exactly as likely to not let her have any freedom/privacy
she's very happy that while at camp, she gets to avoid any possible interference, for the most part

Adara can probs relate some to the 'controlling family' thing, albeit for different reasons (mom wasn't overprotective, just liked control)
