second of all: i thought superwholock and the associated fandom culture had died out??? this is why i never go into tags, it opens my eyes to the tumblr outside of my tiny little corner. i want to stay blissful and ignorant.

I posted a comment on a ~Discourse~ post that was disagreeing with part of the post's thesis and hello there, random anxiety that someone will yell at me over it.

 

NOOOOOOOOOO I CAN'T GET SICK I HAVE TWO DAYS OF CERTIFICATION DIVES THIS WEEKEND draining sinuses and scratchy throat is noooooooooo

 

i've woken up twice since i went to bed, once to change my pad and now a low blood sugar. i had to shove some honey in my face (gross) and eat my last granola bar, so now the only no-prep-required food i have is baby carrots. and now i'm cold and tired but im expecting a phone call so i can only go back to bed for a couple hours. bleh.

I ate ice cream this morning and it helped for a few minutes and then stopped helping

oh another thing annoying me is that alongside this cold my ears are also hellishly itchy on the inside. no amount of popping them has helped. aaargh

also @Imoyram you should find an eyedropper and put hydrogen peroxide in them for about 5 mins, either side. that'll kill germs in your ears.

(appears) Actually not true! Hydrogen peroxide's usefulness was vastly overstated by two guys who thought it was the secret cure for everything including cancer - it can kill some bacteria in the lab, but at much higher concentrations and exposure times than you'll get by putting it in your ears. source: I listen to too many medical history podcasts

 

interesting! i have a friend who swears by it; has had way fewer ear infections since she started doing that. i also find it helps! but perhaps it is placebo effect to some degree :P if nothing else, i find it helps clear out ear wax and gunk.

 

I'm sure I can get some high-concentration peroxide. I wanted to build a rocket anyway.
Please don't do anything involving high-test peroxide.

 

Yeah, it can be useful for softening earwax to remove it if you have too much, I've heard as much!
