I'm pretty sure that me and Sunshine are red. The only thing getting in the way of us being official-red, honestly, is him thinking that I'm red with Pap and that I can't have two matesprites.

Sunshine fell in hate with me because we had a huge fucking fight about the way I overclocked an FTL propulsion engine and I didn't like the way he measured things. We were working together for this incredibly unethical company that was willing to pay us to do their engineering despite our lack of legal credentials due to being illegal aliens and we shared an office. He threw the most unbelievable tantrum over something I did to a warp crystal, and in the process, he knocked over my desk, so I bent him over it with his arm behind his back. Hilarity ensued. I literally did not know whether we were going to fuck or kill each other for the first ten minutes of the wrestling match. We needed a bucket AND a mop AND a better set of locks for our office door.

In order to find Sunshine another kismesis you're going to have to find someone who:

a) cares passionately about many of the things he cares about;
b) manages to piss him off just by breathing.

The only time Bill has ever shown me respect was when he was seducing me into his games by lying about his intentions and motivations. Bill can talk beautifully and make himself sound extremely high-minded, but there's nothing whatsoever beneath it. If he ever addresses me respectfully, it's because he wants something.

Talassani babies don't eat sugar.

The first sound kits make is a purr. When they are very small, just born, they can't even hear themselves (they are born with their eyes and ears closed), but they purr because they feel their mother's purring and they purr back. Baby kits just want to lie on you, skin to skin. You can get them to lie on their fathers, too, if you let their fathers hold them shortly after they are born and mingle the smell of their father's skin with the scent of your blood and first milk. Baby kits whose eyes are still closed will also howl if they are in pain, or they become cold, because they cannot regulate their own body temperatures well and if they get too cold they will die. It is the most eerie and heartwrenching, painful noise you will ever hear. It is meant to make you think they are dying. Which is accurate when they are cold or sick...but they also make it when they get their shots.

The third noise kits learn to make is a trill. They learn this when their eyes open and their ears open up and they begin to see you and recognise faces. They want to communicate with you when they make this noise and it is utterly adorable. Kits also learn to hiss at about this time, when they can distinguish a difference between things that are actually dangerous to them and things that are just annoying.

 

Kittens are rather cute. If only I had hands, i could pet them. I actually didn't know some of that information. I am more programmed for cleaning. Not biology.
