Nope, the first sound they make is that howl--when they realise it's cold out here and they can't go back to where it was always warm. You haven't attended any births, I can tell! You'll know when you hear it. It'll stop when they're cleaned up and curled up on you and latched on, but kits always look and sound like they think they've made a terrible mistake when they're first born.
