so let's see we know who's stolen the helm (our lovely Eris child up there, who def needs a name at some point, but did all of this because "MOM PLEASE LOVE ME")
and we know why, it was to incite war amongst the gods
and we know a few things that'll def happen on the quest
now we just need the prophecy and we can start the RP, I think!

    strictly quadrilateral alive, alive, alive!

My first thought when I saw the doll maker picture was that she needed a j name - Janie was what came to mind.

I personally like Janie because its adorable.

also im not quite sure how one would rp adhd if one doesn't have it..? i mean i've heard some stuff about riordan not really writing it realistically and just using it as a plot device to remind the readers "SEE HE IS STILL DISTRACTED BY THE SHINY" and then of course the "sup reflex' fight scene stuff. though i HAVE always liked how realistic the fighting was at times. baby percy had ungodly luck, but other than that in the first book i remember a lot of "OHGODOHGOD -swipe swipe swipe-"

like i can rp depression and ptsd ok and i can deal with dyslexia since thats straight-forward enough, but does anyone have any tips for the adhd thing because doing something mental-illness related wrong bugs me

edit: oh okay, didn't see your response. also yes, that is me when rping with non binary chars XD -prays silently to the god of genders- 'ok good i don't appear to be bothering anyone, we chill'

I'm probably just going to look up the symptoms of adhd and try to incorporate them into the character as best I can but like
I have adhd and I still can't figure it out so :P pray to the god of adhd, I guess, and if they don't strike you down with...I dunno, some adhd-related thing, then I think you're in the clear

    I like Janie!
I've probably got ADHD and my plan was just "okay, what would be distracting me in this situation?"
    which might not be helpful

    Janie it is then?
    and lemme see
    adhd symptoms, here we go
    • blurts out answers before questions are completed
    • has difficulty waiting turn
    • interrupts others during conversation
    • has difficulty sustaining attention during tasks or play
    • does not seem to listen when spoken to directly
    • fails to finish things (like schoolwork or chores)
    • makes careless mistakes in schoolwork and such as a result of lack of close attention
    • avoids, dislikes, or is reluctant to engage in tasks that require sustained mental effort (such as schoolwork or homework)
    • loses things often (....Adara and the jackets.)
    • easily distracted by extraneous stimuli
    • forgetful
    • fidgets with hands or other objects
    • does not stay seated when expected to
    • talks excessively
    • appears 'on the go'
    • runs about or climbs excessively (....Adara now has a penchant for climbing trees all the damn time)
    • has difficulty engaging in activities quietly
    so yeah just
    work with that I guess?

Yeah I also have adhd and I would get my ass handed to me in a swordfight that didn't involve target areas, right of way, and all that stuff. Though that is mostly due to me being a) terrible at reading what someone is going to do unless it's a very obvious pattern or b) getting really caught up in bladework over getting away from the other person.

I cannot be focused on one thing only, ever. And I have no filter. So, in a fight, I'd probably ramble and piss off whoever was trying to kill me even more.

    chaoticArbiter literally Eevee

in a fight, I would probably just be like "HIYA STAB HAHA YES GOOD MORE STABBING" and then in the midst of all my stabby attempts the other person would skewer me.

....Adara, on the other hand, is going to rely mainly on sneak attacks and raising ghosts to fight for her. and flapping away from attacks. yes good. enemy attacks and she just flaps straight up into the air. perfect.
