"You are different from me in that aspect, then. I have a very select set of stuff I eat. Kinda...picky." Adara shrugged. "I think I inherited it from my dad, or something."
"I imagine so." Adara hesitated, then added, "I'm...basically a vegetarian. Meat is just kinda yucky to me texture-wise. So there's that. Plant stuff is good."
"If you want," Larkspur said, "I can grow you some things? I mean, it'd take a while for them, you know, for best results, but..."
"O-oh, r-really?" Adara stammered, blushing a bit at the offer. It was just so sweet of Larkspur to offer, and Adara was easily flustered by kind offers. "I mean, um, that would be really, really nice of you, if you wouldn't mind!!"
"I'd love to, don't worry. Plants are kinda my thing, you know." wow, that sounded so stupid. Larkspur was starting to wonder if her brain had shorted out or something.
Adara giggled. "True. Well...if you want to, I'd love it if you would!" She smiled, hoping she'd said the right thing.
Larkspur was pretty sure she would melt from the adorable. "Awesome. Have anything in particular you'd like?"
Adara pondered for a moment. "Well...if it's not too difficult, could you maybe do some kale, or bok choy? They're...kind of hard to get my hands on from camp, because most places nearby don't sell them, and it would be nice to have some. Also, chives would be good, and maybe some burdock? The roots are edible--though you probably already know that. Oh, is that too many?" She hesitated anxiously, not wanting to overwhelm Larkspur with requests.
"I've already got a chive! It's pretty giant, at this point. So much chive." She smiles at Adara. "Relax, it's fine! I can totally grow some of those. Probably not all at once though."
"Ah, that's excellent!! And oh, of course not all at once, but if you could grow them, that would be wonderful!" Adara grinned and clapped her hands happily. "Thank you!!"
"You are very welcome! We need more edible plants at camp, right now everything is ornamental flowers, pretty much."
"Agreed," Adara said emphatically. "I mean, I love flowers and all, they're very very pretty and they smell wonderful and they really brighten up the outside of my cabin! But edible plants are...well, edible! And I greatly enjoy food, so they kind of win out over flowers for me."
"Oooh!" Adara perked up. "I agree with this suggestion. Actually, I know there are some edible flowers--I've just never had the chance to try any." She pondered for a second. "Was it...lavender that was the one that recipe suggested? Maybe? I should look that up in my recipe books later. And then try it!"
"We should be weird together, then," Jack said, resisting the urge to bury their face in their hands again. "I guess we're already doing that, though."
"I want to hold your hand," Jack said hesitantly, "but, well, you know mine are cold and I don't want to, to make you cold..."
