I really love TF:P Starscream's heels. And Arcee's everything. And Airachnid?? I'm almost through season 1 and even though it started kind of rough I actually like pretty much all of the characters. Knock Out and Arcee are probably my faves, but Starscream is inching upwards, a little bit.

I'm probably going to read TAAO on viewcomic. I'm always up for more Windblade. exRiD is getting a bit boring for me because it's going back to Autobots vs Decepticons on Earth, although with a few nice twists, but more of Windblade and the colonies and Cybertronian political shenanigans sounds like fun.

Apart from equara hate anon, who is an outlier adn should not have been counted, all the negative fandom pushback I've gotten in the last year has tied back to Prowl. Even though this is more about Optimus. And you know what, I have never been that invested in Optimus's character, but I sure am now. What ever happened to loving garbage because it's garbage? I'm the happiest little trash panda, hurting nobody in my garbage corner, I just honestly do not understand the people who see someone shipping a thing and decide they need to be taught better. (ps optimus prime is a cognizant character and a really interesting look at severe long-term depression and an eroded sense of identity, made worse by the way the end of the war yanks the rug out from under his feet. I still don't like him very much, but I will absolutely defend his right to be a character I don't care for. and if this person had actually read the story they're bitching about, it was all about optimus and prowl being together out of a sense of familiarity rather than any current emotional connection, mistaking a complete failure to communicate as 'we just know each other so well we don't have to talk', and optimus relying on prowl to give him shape. That story was deliberately a quiet, melancholy mess, oh my goddddd)

this is hilarious because I only care for Optimus Prime when Spock writes him and then I suddenly have actual emotional responses to his problems instead of "Primus' sake, fuck off and go be annoying somewhere else OP" eta: by which I mean Spock's interpretation of OP is basically my only chance at trying to emotionally understand what Optimus' problem is because I cannot connect to the character well.
Maybe a dumb question... When was Whirl subjected to shadowplay, exactly? I can't remember an exact mention of it, just the other methods of horrific coercion the Senate used on him, and the empurata. But in that quoted interview with Roberts that touched on Megatron and shadowplay, Whirl was mentioned as a character who 'can never fully recover from [the shadowplay] the Senate did to him' and I'm wondering what exactly that shadowplay was? Like. Whirl is definitely an extreme case of many things, but I didn't actually think they'd rewritten his personality at all. It was more cruel to break him the 'old-fashioned' way. More punishing to him for daring to make watches.
