this may be the wrong place to put this, but oh well. Get help with your homework! There are people on here of all ages, and talents, so it is very likely that whatever your homework, there is someone who knows what it means. homework help of all kinds can be thrown in here -what the fuck does this question mean -can someone proofread this and literally anything else (I probably cant actually help other people with homework cause you are all older than me, but yeah. I felt with all the college/university students on here that it would be helpful)
Oh! also resources are welcome if for example you have found a really cool trick to help write notes, share it! Surely there's someone who could find it useful also links and things, at some point im gonna compile all the sites I researched from in my space project, even though thats probably useful to hardly anyone. good complicated calculator things, good explanations of concepts, whatever feel free
We are doing a holocaust unit and uh i dont know what on earth i am supposed to write in the third column of this paper. I mean i think i do but i also dont? bleh Translation- anti-jew measure/law | Right involved/touched on | Impact on the life of the victims
I read it as being a 'why was this wrong?' type of thing or like.... yeah, just, how did it affect them? What did this law mean in practice? Like judging by the size of the columns here you're not expected to make a deep analysis sorry i don't really know either
Looks like a good idea! :D I think it would be something like: Exclusion from public life | 2 | Treated like second-class citizens, segregated from non-Jews, couldn't get jobs that paid well, couldn't participate in politics, etc. I don't think you need more than one or two effects for each, but I think that's what they're looking for. Just "what bad things happened to the victims because of this law".
blehhhhhhh i have been attempting to write these last two sentences of homework for over an hour i have to write how certain things the nazi did/rule-law-things affected the jews the two (out of eight total) that im stuck on are creation of the list of jews and deportation to the death camps aaargh i know what they did but i cant write them aaaaaaaaaargh eta: and then I have to get someone to check all these answers because i am really worried that i fucked this up bleh also i will not ask family because mom is in an atrociously bad mood, and everyone else.. no. I also dont want to trouble them emotionally because the holocaust is a heavy thing and just because i dont get too emotionally troubled by it doesnt mean they wont
It's okay! This happens. /hugs. Do you wanna try to talk about what the list of jews and the deportations did, or do you want me to try to put it into words? You are doing fine, and I'll be up for probably two hours if you want me to check it over.
i managed to get one in words thanks to the skype chat the creation of the list of jews affected the jews because: "it invalidated the rest of their identity and made them an easier target for discrimination" as for the death camps one i still dont have a sentence it just so painfully obvious how would anyone ever ask that question?
Awesome. Yeah, that sounds good. Yes, it's painfully obvious; it's one of those worksheet things. They would never ask outright "what bad things happened to Jews, when they were murdered"? But on a list of "bad things that happened", they can't leave out the WORST thing, so they just threw it in even though it's a silly question. XP "They were killed and forced to work in inhumane conditions"? (You are not alone on knowing the answer but being unable to make words work. I have spent so many hours in that boat.)
that works! I'll french translate it, stick it on my paper, and then...english translate/transcribe to here? unless you know french? then i'd just take a photo of the paper and stick it up here, and link to the doc with the rights list
@albedo and you arent grammar checking, it doesnt really matter in stuff other than french class specific assignemnts okay hold on
Yeah, detailed grammar-checking in French is beyond my level of fluency, but it didn't sound like that was what you needed here. o/
okay so looking at my writing again on here if you look at this and go wtf i cant read this, its okay and i can probably translate pretty quickly the big one with my answers^ the list of nazi antijew movements/laws
Translating on the fly, so let me know if I read anything crazy-wrong... Exclusion from public life - they couldn't do what non-Jews could Creation of the list of Jews - it invalidated the rest of their identity and made them an easier target for discrimination Physical separation and exclusion - they were put in ghettos Deportation to the labor camps - they were taken from their homes and sent to the camps where they were treated like slaves and killed Identification and isolation - it invalidated the rest of their identity and person, and their sense that they were part of the rest of the community Imposition of the Nuremberg Laws - it removed their rights as citizens and made them second-class people Deportation to the death camps - they were killed and forced to work in inhumane conditions Sterilization and deportation of Jewish and mixed-race couples - treated the Jews like animals, and removed Jews from their families if they were not also Jewish Looks good to me! I might add to "physical separation and exclusion" that the conditions in the ghettos were terrible, but otherwise I think it's quite clear. o/
my translations would be deportation to work camps- they were taken from their houses and sent to camps where they were forced to work like slaves until they died identification and isolation- it invalidated the restt of their identity and person, and removed their sense of community completely sterilization and deportation of jews and mixed jew+nonjew couples- they treated the jews like animals or they took the jew and the rest of their family, regardless of if they were also jewish ("took" meaning sent to camps) other than that your translation were pretty accurate, im glad they made sense and yeah i think i will add something about the awful conditions in the ghettos
very helpful! its actually done now!! yay! Im finally fucking done (also i corrected the translations just in case my actual sentence didnt work when your translation sentence did)
