    Australian thread? Australian thread.

I have no idea what to post here but @Ducks wanted to know if there was an Australian thread so I decided to make one.

Let's talk about our country! Like idk apparently we're having an election soon and Malcolm Turnbull was a conservative asshole in his budget and somehow people are surprised.

Immigrant, now citizen, was moved over here when I was 13 and I'm now 23. Formerly from England. Living in Cow Town. Not pleased with Cow Town >.>
Going to the Haven Convention in July. Have booked hotel room, it has a spare bed if anyone ends up that way and cannot afford accommodation.
Glad that it's cooler at the moment.
The political climate sucks and I'm voting Green :<

Born in Melbourne, moved to Sydney when I was 4 and a half, currently on exchange in Japan, Japan is a significantly better country in that living here is actually affordable and the government seems to actually give half a shit about its citizens.

I need to register to postal vote oops

I love Melbourne so much! If I stay in Australia, I would like to live there. Sydney's... badly planned and Very Conservative the median house price is $1million and nope.

Oh hello, it me. I am also Australian type person, formerly from more northerly regions (born in Mackay, lived in Darwin for a time), have lived in Brisvegas since I was a smol 12 y/o Hobo. It is a boring town but I appreciate boringness. Also, like Sydney, it was designed by monkeys. It's the only thing that explains the roads in this stupid place.

Also, go Greens! We can all waste our votes, especially me since my parents consistently pick the most Liberal areas in the greater Brisbane region to live. Ironic considering my dad is more on the dirty commie side.

    Edit: Also, fuck Sydney.

My parents are both military so they're both staunch coalition voters (though my stepmum is more on the fence because she's also a nurse)

Brisbane has stupid roads but I appreciate Brisbane drivers. They're my fave out of the towns I've driven in. Adelaide drivers are too slow, Canberra drivers are assholes with big egos, Sydney drivers are consistently risky drivers, and Melbourne drivers are inconsistently risky (they're the worst imo).

Fucking newborn bludgers, always expecting to be fed, and at whose expense?????? Plus, they sleep all day and don't even speak English. I support Plom McFartle and his put newborns to work policy, it's time we struck back against those lazy hippies.

The age of entitlement is over!

Listened to the latest first dog on the moon and I feel a smidgeon better about being an international embarrassment.

Also yeah, I have a bad habit of forgetting that preferences are a thing that stop your vote from being wasted. Kind of an amazing thing to forget when you're also the same person who fills out all ballots with preferences, even those ridiculously stupidhuge senate ones with dozens of parties along the lines of "The Australian Buttsex Nazi Party" or "Australian Fishermen For Medical Ecstasy And Strippers".

I fully filled out my senate ballot last time too @.@

This year though you can do preferences above the line OR you can do as few as 1-12 below the line.
