It was a little shocking to be processing and working my way through some stuff, and I realized that I'd had the attitude of, "I have to do everything right, or this person is going to leave me and not want to be around any-more." And then I had to look at the evidence and....no, actually, they've *kept* *coming* *back*, to spend time with me, even when things were frustrating, or boring. I would have saved myself a lot of angst and stress if I'd been able to believe, and trust in this, sooner.
Can I just say, how fucking important this show has been for me as a person working through a whopper of a major depressive episode? Because it has. It really has. Thank you so much, Rebecca Sugar.
....that explains so much. Do you ever forget how dates work because you spend so much time awake after midnight that numbers become meaningless? I spent so much time looking for uploads of the new episodes last night
Well, finally jumping back in the thread! I stopped reading when the spoiler videos came out but I'll probably only go through all the backlog when the entire In Too Deep has aired... The episodes were good! Spoiler So, it seems like bubbled Gems aren't actually, like, asleep. The cluster is still aware of everything, it just can't form. Also it seems like the fused shards weren't at all aware of each other, properly... hm. Might need to go back to the other episodes to see if that holds up. Eta: ALSO Jasper is not dead, obviously. I AM surprised that lapis took enough damage to be so exhausted hours after defusing, but stayed in her physical form. Also the watermelon community was super adorable, and I kind of want a little watermelon crossing video game now. And it's adorable they apparently use Nose Goes to decide important things.

so, related but not specific to the new episodes, but: are we ever going to talk about the fact that Steven is fucking telepathic? he talks to people in dreams and the gems just accept it? is this something Rose could do? is it part of his larger "connection to life" powers? the show has overtly discussed his healing powers and his ability to create plant-based life, but i feel like they haven't commented nearly enough on why/how he is a goddamn telepath.
Spoiler Wow, I didn't expect two pretty big issues, Malachite and the Cluster, to get mostly resolved so quickly in basically two episodes. Also, the Alexandrite versus Malachite fight was amazing! What will happen to Jasper now, though? Will she start living with the melon Stevens and learn to be more chill? Man, I missed this show... The next episode airs next week, right? I very briefly entertained the thought that limited telepathy was a quartz thing. Like, quartz units that function together as smoothly as fusions, but with multiple bodies capable of pulling off some real cool coordinated maneuvers and junk. And that Stevo was picking up a distress signal from Jasper or something that pulled him into Malachite's headspace. Doesn't have any basis in canon, tho. Also, haven't and likely will not be able to see the episode for a while. is jasper ok, did she do anything cool, did Malachite do her own thing as her own person kinda???
Spoiler I can't believe this fucking show managed to non-violently solve the cluster thing I actually teared up because it was so beautiful. I love this show. I love it so much.
