Because it came up, and, why not make a topic for it?

What are your favourite shoes? Shoes you'd love to wear but can't? Or do you just go barefoot?

My mother (.... are you noticing a trend yet) made me wear shoe inlays in my shoes, and at some point I started developing flatfoot - to the point where I had to remove my running shoes because they hurt like a motherfucker. My GP later gave me some exercises and said he won't prescribe inlays because they're basically prosthetics and giving up, instead of strengthening the muscles.
At which point I ditched the inlays completely.
The arch of my foot still sags sometimes, (which makes walking hurt, but not as much as back then), but a day without shoes and doing the exercises usually takes care of that.

I like flat shoes with thin soles so I can feel the ground under my feet, and I absolutely love going barefoot.
Due to my way of walking being heel down first then roll to the front, I can't wear thin heels - can't balance. I have two pairs of heeled shoes, both with broad heels, and I kinda like em because they're stylish, but... yeah, I'm slow as hell in them.

And I love sturdy boots. Nothing says don't fuck with me like a pair of good boots.

Hee hee! I love bare feet, but due to working [way too much], I wear socks(and shoes) more often. But not just any socks! I wear toe socks. Strictly toe socks. I can not stand the feel of regular socks anymore. My feet are usually brightly adorned with colors that range from "those are nice" to "all the colors!" to "who in their right mind thought those colors would look good together?!".

As far as shoes, I am now commited to closed toed sandals(is there a proper name for these guys?). I wear them in the snow even.

I kinda wish I could enjoy toe shoes more, but they make my feet too hot.

#I love feet #and toe socks #sooooo much

I am, and always have been, a toe walker. A sideeffect of this is that wearing heels is basically my superpower, unless they´re very thin or very high or both I can walk just fine in them. If they are high or thin I can still sway around in them and be taller than anyone else.

My love of shoes was a thing since I was little, (nevermind the whole prince thing, i just wanted Cinderellas shoes) and if I had the money I´d have so many shoes. So many.

At home I actually purrfur to go barefoot. Socks are the devil.

there, changed mine from 'slip-ons' to 'sandals', because while i slip on my hiking sandals (i never bother unfastening them), they mostly appeal because they're totally unconfining.

boots, on the other hand, are completely confining, in a way that feels protective. hiking boots and work boots make my feet feel secure.

all other shoes are on probation forever.

I never wear shoes if i can get away with not. I have callouses on my feet like ridic-- have actually walked across broken glass and not noticed. If i have to wear shoes, flipflops you can step into and out of in a moment are my second choice.

Now i live in a place that actually gets snow periodically, i occasionally wear boots, because frostbite sounds lame. But i still take them off the second im inside.

I stopped wearing shoes when at people's places some years back, and it took some more years to teach my mom that no, I won't wear the house shoes you keep buying for me, I step out of them anyways. Some of my friends still look at me weirdly, heh, but I can't for the life of me reconcile wearing outside shoes inside. (I even ditch my shoes at uni when I'm hanging around in the common rooms)

The only inside shoes I would accept nowadays I haven't been able to find in my size - they have a stiff felt sole and a softer felt part that is like a short sock. Really neat for when it's cold.

Flip-flops and running shoes if I get a choice, broad low heels and flats at work. I have a great pair of knee-high black boots that I wear with skirts to work in the winter. High heels about once every two months if I can't think of a way to avoid wearing them. (I hate heels.)

i lOVE shoes. i have a legit shoe problem.
my favorite are heels - mid-to-high and broad heels, because they're less super painful, but damn i love them. but i do consider my legs a wee bit in the short side so they make me feel fantastic and with really nice legs. I end up wearing a ton of flats because i live in an area that is sorta hill-y and i don't want to go tumbling down, but whenever i have the opportunity to wear a bit of a heel i'll grab it tooth and nail.
and i'll never let go of my many. many havaianas.
it's winter here in brazil and there's this trend of ankle/combat bootish high heels that is really painful to watch because i cant have them all.

Oooh, you know what i would actually wear all the time if they werent so expensive? Split-soled dance shoes. The ones that have soles over the balls and heels of your feet but lace snug under your arches. Those feel awesome.

I have a pair of awesome heels I bought with a giftcard from a retro fashion store. They're six inches high and thin. I can't wear them for shit :D
I'm so finicky about shoes. I need to have a rounded...heel? Not the pointy part. But the part that rests against the actual heel. Otherwise they pinch and cut me up.
I don't enjoy wearing any shoes at all except big heavy boots though. I have a pair of tolerable sandals, but they're dying on me. I either can't feel the ground or I feel it entirely too much.

Another in the 'hate shoes, prefer barefoot' front. I'll wear flipflops until there's serious frostbite risk, then switch to tennis shoes or boots.

I don't like how shoes squish my feet, and how they make my individual toes into one big useless blob, because I actually use my feet for stuff like opening doors, all the time. >>; Uh, not at other people's houses or in public spaces, I know that bugs people.

Although recently, I've discovered that I've been wearing shoes a size too small for most of my life, and that actually helps a lot. :|

If I'm not barefoot, I'm wearing boots. Anything else is unacceptable. If I'm being forced to wear shoes, it's going to be ones that make me feel badass.

I don't actually mind shoes in and of themselves, I just can't stand socks i hate them i hate them i hate them

I love going barefoot. Apparently as a kid my mother had a lot of trouble persuading me to wear socks and shoes when we moved from Nigeria to The Netherlands. I tried to take off my shoes in class and the teacher wasn't too happy about that.

I go barefoot the moment I get the chance: luscious green grass in the park? I'll take my shoes off. I hate socks: my feet get sweaty and the socks get damp. The only time I will wear some form of sockwear is in winter, and even then I prefer wearing tights. I don't like how the edges of socks touch my ankles. It annoys me a lot and I always want to pull them up. I try and wear flat pumps for as long as possible - it's raining? I'm wearing open ballerinas without socks. It's the minimal protection between my bare feet and the city's pavements, and they still look elegant.

When it comes to choosing shoes with some heel, I love moderately high-heeled pumps (like 5 to 6 cm) and boots. I don't like stilettos as they are too thin and throw off my balance something fierce. But suede ankle boots and elegant pumps are fantastic. I will wear them until they break down or until the heel snaps off. The only problem is that my preference means that I get the nastiest blisters. So I'm always armed with those liquid blister bandaids in my purses. And I walk a lot. Like I love walking for miles and miles. I'd hike with pumps if my friends weren't paying attention. I have an irrational hatred for sneakers, like really irrational. I've tried looking for sneakers that look a bit more toned down, like pumps, but every time I wear them I feel like my feet are gigantic frog feet and then they get sweaty and I never wear them again. I've been wearing converses for a long time as a type of gym shoe until recently, and now I bought a pair of sneakers that I only wear for working out. I'd rather work out barefeet, but my gym doesn't allow that. I still really don't like them, but I'm managing.

As a result my feet are calloused like hell. My toenails look like shit, and I'm pretty sure my pinky toenails are beyond help now. My toes look like gecko toes, so I don't really care too much about taking care of my feet because I don't think they're pretty enough to take care of anyways. Feet are feet and are for walking.

i like going barefoot inside the house when it's summer, but i'm TERRIFIED of getting my feet wet for some reason, so most of the time it's a no-go. But havaianas almost feel like it for me, without the dreaded possibility of my soles touching puddle water.

Always barefoot, even in the snow (I run :) ). With super long toes I could never find shoes that fit, and I've always loved the feel of walking on things, and my SPD makes walking from one surface to another an erotic experience, so yeah - no shoes. Ever.

I looovvveee boots, especially knee-high ones. I like the feeling of having my legs snugly encased. I also like heels, because I like actually being tall. I don't normally go barefoot because I can't bear to go across dry, dusty concrete. That's the kind of sensation that can push me to my breaking point.

I hate shoes that show my toes. I just think they're wrong and ugly (the shoes, not my toes). And I like rustic looking shoes with simple designs and thick soles that make me feel I could roundhouse kick a bear anytime. I can do very short, wide heels, but never thin or tall ones. I walk a lot and blister easily, so my shoes all have to be comfy. At home I walk mostly barefoot or in really soft fuzzy cow-shaped (!) slippers. Socks, my faves are very boring men's athletic socks that are thick and white and come in 3 packs - those feell like happiness itself to me.

Shoes with laces are Too Much Work. Heels need to be platforms or it pinches the nerves of the balls of my feet. I apparently have such strong ankles (?) that with thick-soled athletic shoes I have been able to easily go en pointe for fifteen minutes at a time without noticeable pain. Hunting down socks is a pain. I also have ingrown nails so finding shoes that don't make my nails feel like crap is hard.

    My shoe hierarchy is basically:
    • Do you need to go work out? Wear Workout Shoes with fluorescent socks.
    • Do you have a formal appearance? Wear the platform heels unless platforms not allowed; then wear short-heeled pumps.
    • Are your shoes causing you gender anxiety? Hunt down some socks and put on the male-reading sneakers or (preferably) motorcycle boots.
    • Is it cold out? Hunt down some socks and wear boots.
    • Preference under most situations: the nearest pair of flats. Flip-flops are for when I truly cannot comprehend wearing shoes but must.
I like being barefoot on carpet. I do not like being barefoot on anything else, including rugs, because it "feels" dirty even if it's not.
