Spoiler: Steven Floats Confirmation that Steven's powers are emotion-based! Which wasn't really ever in doubt, but it just makes me wonder if Rose's powers were the same. There's always been an oddness in the ways she's reacted to stuff in my opinion and if she was used to controlling her emotions constantly that puts a lot of it in perspective

Steven Floats was very underwhelming for me, but also adorable so I can't not like it. It's like the lemon lime soda of steven universe episodes: still tastes pretty good but not the most exciting flavor out there. also I officially have a new pet peeve: fans complaining that Lapis was ooc in Barn Mates/Hit the Diamond. It's like... come on. Just because she doesn't have the fanon personality doesn't mean she's ooc. It means your headcanons are wrong. Up until this point Lapis has been a minor character, I am pretty sure the writers know her a lot better than we do.
steven floats was very filler. it's weird to me that they decided that'd be the episode to end all of this instead of Hit the Diamond. i'm assuming that's the last episode until the Summer thing that is supposedly happening.

this is true, except if we had a venn diagram for "fans who think Lapis is saintly and kind and has carnal relationships with Peridot" and "fans who think Jasper is a giant teddy bear" you would have two circles that never touched. From what I have seen 99% of the time people who think Lapis is sweet and innocent and ship her with Peridot think Jasper is a violent abusive rapist who probably beats the snot out of and/or rapes other gems all the time.

But theres a suspicious lack of lion just before, pllotwise, going into summer And a surprising lack of connie in stevens thoughts I hope lion went to hang and bum lion lickers off her
finally caught up with the thread and: using rubes to be short for rubies is really funny to me because of what rube means around here. it's basically the opposite of a city slicker, a country bumpkin. i've noticed she has a really hard time running on two legs (she trips a LOT) and wonder what this means for gem culture. are there gems that prefer running on all fours? are all gems humanoid shaped in the first place? i like to think gems are generally bipedal but possibly take on whatever shapes of the beings the planets they conquer and use that as espionage at first. there might be others like amethyst who can shapeshift more freely that they use to set up kindergartens and assess whether a planet is fit for terraforming. gem "monsters" might be past forms these gems have taken. either that or peridot's just odd. also i loved the continuation of the running gag of garnet wrecking kofi's shit in the latest episode. but pepsi tastes way better than coke says the person who can't even drink either original flavor because of caffiene
That or it's a side effect of learning to operate without her limb enhancers. Those feet, particularly, were much bigger and presumably heavier; maybe she feels unsteady with her unenhanced center of gravity? (also eeewww don't go comparing SU to yucky soda gross)

...actually, if I remember right, Pearl scampers out of Steven's room in Lion 3, and Baby Amethyst ran around on all fours in Story for Steven too. So it very well COULD be a Gem thing!
