RWBY OC! Based on the bold jumping spider. She's all black and white but for her bandana, which is iridescent blue-green, like that particular spider's mouthparts. Her name is Audax Somethingorother, Aud for short, and her Semblance is enhanced agility, which she uses to spider-parkour all over the place. Her weapon is a distaff and spindle, which contains dust canisters that flow through the "threads" for different effects. She's bouncy and energetic and kinda shy.
Dragonball roleswap AU! Vegeta is not the most succinct of wealthy teenage megalomaniacs, and it is very difficult to make characters recognisable when all they got going is hair and hair is a defining trait of specific species. At least Vegeta's got his widow's peak, but a shaggy haired CHi CHi looks basically the same as Goku. She gets a more chinese outfit, on acounta she favors clothes like that after she loses the metal bikini. She gets a naginata, too.
A real quick drawing of one of my (many, many) alien OCs for an rp I'm doing! He's kind of insect-y. The little dark patches on his neck and sides are tymbals, they let him make noises like a cicada.
drawing thread, i have a question!! I've made some financial bad decisions and now the people who pay my bills are in want of my skin, and i've thought about doing commissions to offset a little of the fuckup, but i have... no idea how to price my stuff. Im not really good enough to feel comfortable doing overly complicated poses or interactions, and i have no idea how much what i do is worth. how do you decide that? how much is too much, what would you be willing to pay? here's some examples i was thinking about keeping the sketches around 5 and the fullbody flatcolors around 25 and the more detailed/painted stuff a little more expensive, with in-between prices for, like, waist-up stuff and the likes. but it still sounds like overpricing for my level of skill...
Hey, I haven't actually started taking commissions myself, so take what I say with a grain of salt, but I will offer my two cents anyway! What seems to be most commonly-advised is to set a wage for yourself (like $10-15 per hour - no less than minimum wage wherever you are), time yourself, and let that be the basis for your price. If you're desperate right now it makes sense to cut the prices a bit, but in general you should remember that you're providing a luxury service with skilled labor - worth well above min wage. I think the prices you've listed for the pieces (or similar) you've shown are more than fair - those more detailed ones I'd easily put in the $50-80 range, or even more than that! They're very detailed, well-proportioned, and super clean - very much a finished and polished product. TLDR: Your art is great and you shouldn't undersell yourself! But! If you need money fast, you might want to pitch it as a flash sale; list "regular" prices, and reduced ones for the duration of you-needing-bills-money time. @anyone else: if I'm talking out my ass, feel free to correct me!
