My dnd character manages to rarely do anything unless prompted, and yet she's still one of only TWO people in the entire group that tries diplomacy. Ever.
I didn't realize this until last night, but she's also super prone to Cuteness Proximity. Our (other) rogue, due to some interesting magical grog, turns into a tiny stuffed version of himself if he's hugged. Maya's first response to hearing this was to spontaneously snuggle him. It was great.

I went outside to take a picture, and my cousin and an acquaintance of hers I do not remember ever meeting (presumably I met her when I was v small) appeared and... GAVE ME A KITTEN??




it is A Smol and VERY LOUD and they brought it to me bc my mom does animal rescue

but my mom is at work so here I am, sitting in the bathroom with tinycat

it kept meowing and trying to fit under the door so I gave it our spinny toy and it is ENTRANCED

 

positive developments: kitten has gone from "hiding behind the toilet in terror" to "purring like a motor and so goddamn cuddly it's setting off my ticklishness"

negative developments: my mom finally got my texts and she's mad that I brought it inside the house. :| probably reasonable, but dammit, I don't know how your whole garage crate system works!

so now my cousin is theoretically coming to take it back until my mom gets home and can deal with it herself, but... my cousin hasn't shown up yet. so idk what's up.

meanwhile the kitten is ASLEEP IN THE CROOK OF MY ARM WTF WHO SAID IT COULD BE THIS CUTE

 

ahdjgkgl apparently my cousin bounced after giving me the kitten (because I told her I could deal with it!) so now my mom is mad at her as well as frustrated with me

I have been instructed to put the kitten in a carrier in the garage and wait until SOMEONE shows up to be responsible for it. #0k. the most upsetting thing is that when I came back out to sit by the garage it hissed at me ): ):
