Damarrim is some good shit given the dynamics of the group and what we saw of how Porrim treats Damara. In front of new people no less.

Yeah, Damarrim is probably the least trashy Damz ship.

This is not saying a lot.

 

THAT IS WHAT SHE DOES. STANDS THERE AND LOOKS CREEPY. I WHISPER WHILE YOU ARE STANDING RIGHT THE FUCK IN FRONT OF ME.

 

And yet it's still one of the better treatments anyone gives her.

Damara's life is such shit and yet it could be even more shit. That is fucking sad.

 

Also I like Pearl/Connie. Even years later the two find ways of encouraging the worst traits they have.

 

I give it like two years at most. It is sadly just the nature of comics. Every so often there is one really great arc and then a bunch of ok ones. Then the higher ups say sensationalism and the comic shits the bed. We then clean up the mess as gracefully as your average soap opera.

 

I'm putting 20 bucks on "clone", and another 10 on "Hydra plot to discredit Cap's legacy".

 

I'm sure it's the equivalent of those Silver Age covers where Superman is, like, murdering Jimmy Olson's dog or something and the cover loudly proclaims how this is totally real, you guys and then when you actually read it the dog is a shapeshifting alien and Supes is being mind-controlled.

But that doesn't really make it any less tasteless and offensive.

I watched From Dusk Till Dawn for what must be the fifteenth time tonight (it's a comfort movie for me and it's delicious glurge okay) and I was hit all over again by trashy, trashy Seth/Kate feelings. I've never watched the series, these are all thoughts from the '96 movie.

Spoiler: Spoilers and a fic idea

I just. Love every bit of their interaction it's so good *rolls around in trash heap* starting from him pouring the shot for her and of course every bit of them hunting the vampires and the end UGH.

I think of this fic idea every time I watch the movie and maybe eventually one day I'll write it, but for now I'll exorcise it by telling y'all about it.

So the bar is just over the border, right, and Kate knows no one will believe her about the vampires, but conveniently the Gecko brothers are still at large so she has the perfect excuse for driving back without her father or brother in a traumatized haze. And there's still cops all over the border so she's let in without question when she tells her story (or she has to bribe them with the cash, I'm not sure which), And the experience has made her even more convinced in her faith because she saw holy water and crosses work, so she believes in God. She doesn't love him the way she did, though, just like her father. So she goes back and fakes normal as best she can, and she stays involved in the church until she graduates high school (probably a church family takes her in, actually), and then she goes to seminary. She believes that God is the shepherd of his flock and needs guard dogs to help him protect them, and she's going to be one of them. So she goes to seminary, because that's the best way she knows how, and then she drives straight back down into Mexico, supposedly to minister to the poor souls who need to be saved there from the evils of catholicism (*rolls eyes* but that is a Baptist thing for sure) but really to hunt vampires. She learned to shoot in high school and kept it up in seminary, and because a) I'm saying this is in Texas because why not we never got an answer about where the family is from and b) what supposedly happened to her family, no one questions it. And then one day during her awesome vampire ass kicking mission, she runs into Seth, of course, and because of lingering teen hero worship and a trauma bond hangs with him and probably tries to bang him like a screen door in a hurricane, and he's all fucked up because his brother is dead and VAMPIRES and also because he was probably not all that stable in the first place, and they rove around the country burning down nests and being in unhealthy codependent love because no one else can understand the experience they had.

 

Hey so moirail and I are watching Katekyo Hitman Reborn because she will never progress past 90s anime (and I love that about her) and I am SUFFERING about horribad age difference kink/student-mentor relationships (various) because that's just how I work, I like to SUFFER in ways that would stain my reputation forever if most people knew
