Spoiler: MTMTE 53 Okay but consider - Kaon and undercover!Dominus in a creepy slow burn romance. Dom feels so fucking guilty about it, thinking of Rewind, but getting more and more sucked into it which just adds to his self-loathing - Kaon is a torturer for the DJD and I'm actually weirdly attracted to them, this is so fucked up style. So however many hundreds of thousands of years later, if Dom happened to find out about Rewind and Chromedome, maybe he would think Rewind was better off happy with someone else, because look at Dominus - he slept with Kaon first, so to him this feels like getting exactly what he deserves On the flip side - Kaon being in charge of torturing Dom once the jig is up, stripping him down layer by layer both physically and mentally, and finally domesticating him in beastmode because Kaon's genuinely hurt and betrayed and this is the only twisted mercy he has for someone who betrayed the DJD and Kaon himself on a far more personal level /languishes in the trash ship dumpster/ This is what dreams are made of my friends

Possibly because Prowl is a consummate dick, possibly because he wants someone to understand and commiserate about his own post-breakup with Chromedome bitterness. Gah

Spoiler: ex-RID 17 liveblog - I found it horribly funny that the doomed mech Shockwave is testing on goes "ahh-- ahh-- KABOOM" like the world's worst allergy attack. - that double gutpunch of empurata and dangling mech bodies actually made me shudder. Robot gore didn't use to bother me, but the empty staring eyes of Shockwave's old head... brr. - Orion Pax, actual shoujo protagonist. "I believe in you! You're still in there!" *throws sparkles* It's painful to compare to current Optimus, who feels nothing. - jfc, no wonder Shockwave threw behind the Decepticons after Megatron gave him HANDS back. Poor dude. - The art is gloomy and I kind of dig it, but man, Starscream just isn't his pretty self. - This miniseries could be titled "this why we can't have nice things. "

DO IT DO IT!!! :DDDDDDD The children's show framing is a little ehhh, but other than that, it's a LOT of fun! It's a pretty unique setup (Optimus Prime is a young, disgraced military officer who never actually fought in the decepticon/autobot war), Ratchet is the grumpiest old man, the way they interact with humanity is fairly unique compared to other continuities, Sentinel Prime is ridiculous, Jazz is gr8 and precious, and Lockdown and Swindle are FANTASTIC. Also, Waspinator. This series is... wow when it comes to him. I had a lot of fun watching this series, and I need to go back and mainline it a second time, as soon as I start my next cross-stitch project. (I also direct you to Schandbringer's (nsfw) swinlock tag, because godDANG do I ship it hard. Her bumbleblitz and swinlock were what got me to check out this show in the first place. Lockdown is my spiky bounty hunter husband from the drift miniseries and spotlight: trailcutter, but even though he's a minor character, he's so much FUN in TFA)
Also, you know, it just occurred to me how unusual it is to have a franchise built from the power of marketing toys to boys, and to have a TV show where the only human main character is a nonwhite girl. That's pretty awesome. Even in TFP, Miko had to share the screen with Jack and Raph. Huh. I really do need to go rewatch TFA now, especially since I know where they're going to take her character.
Soooo... I'm blaming the Dramatis Transformae RP on the fact that I have succumbed to the giant robotitis. Whimsy linked me to MTMTE, and several people suggested I liveblog reading it... should I do that here, or make a separate thread for that? (Kinda want to save this thread for backreading once I know what's going on, because literally all I know about robots is they turn into things and have feelings about it. Also there was a war?)
