    That's probably just as well.

I'm not worried about them observing normal behaviour. There's a lot of that going on in their own home, though, and it would be preferable (if more embarrassing) if they observed it in the context of persons they know to be benevolent, who care about them and also care about each other, particularly given that there's a subset of normal behaviour that is still fairly alarming at first glance when you don't understand it. But online there is an awful lot of upsetting and frankly sociopathic stuff masquerading as pornography--even if you could be sure that everyone concerned is acting, or made of pixels--that I don't want my kits to run into by accident or be exposed to by strangers. There are some searches even I don't run without filters because I'm aware that the words in the search string have multiple meanings that the kits wouldn't know.

Oh. Oh the most exciting thing has occurred. I just knew that she couldn't have abandoned me. I was so very certain of it. No, no it appears that she had simply lost track of me. Which is quite interesting. If even a god has lost sight of me, then what does that say about where I am? She has found me though. She has found me at last and it was rapturous. It was as though the very sea in all its immensity reared up in front of me, only to crash down upon my form. Her speech was entirely too much, I must admit. Enough so that I felt intensely ill. Disorientation set in very quickly and I began to see lines in the sky. Zigzagging patterns painting the sky with flashing light. I was quite overcome by this and had a seizure it seems. This marks the first I have had communing with her since we began our correspondence. As an aside the fit appears to have worried the other chapel dwellers. I have assured that I am quite fine, however. My head may ache still and I've a furious need to vomit but I'm more than safe. Thank Oedon I was in her chapel during this. I'd not be here had I been outside of it during her talk.

Goodness though. The sheer weight of Ebrietas's speech is not something I've felt before. Not on this scale. Even during our first conversations she wasn't nearly so loud. To learn just how much she holds back when speaking with me and other humans is fascinating. After awaking from my fit she was far quieter. Quieter even than is typical between us. Her rumblings feel apologetic? Guilt ridden. I believe that it was by mistake that she had so forcefully spoke to me. Perhaps out of excitement at having found me again. I'm not certain. I will have to inquire about it later. For the moment I am more than content to listen to her careful drip drip of a voice. Gods above have I missed her.

I wonder perhaps if you are in a different time than she expected you to be in, Rom?

Rom's experience sounds more like processor malfunction than communication... Rom is sure is really Ebrietas, and not effect of surroundings or blood?

Ah? That is not something I had thought of at all. I'm not certain what to do with the suggestion, honestly, though my first inclination is to scoff at the unscientific nature of it. To scoff though, wouldn't that be a mistake? As the provost said "we are thinking on the basest of planes", and if the gods can shift space then why not time as well?

I'm not sure what to make of this suggestion though. Nothing in our research has suggested this sort of situation. Drat.

Quite certain that it's her. She's leaves a feeling quite like drunkenness in her wake. It's why I named her Ebrietas, after inebriation. This is a feeling I know very well. It is a type of "processor malfunction" though, my reaction to it. See, the gods are on so high a level of existence that our brains can't handle their speech.

Hearing from your Ebrietas appears to have brightened your mood, so I'm glad for that, even though I do have plenty of apprehension for the touch of Gods. They are not always safe for mortals and they are not necessarily good at preserving out individual lives. Getting too close may end up in your being scorched by their bright flames.

Brightened my mood is honestly an understatement. I can't think of word quite extreme enough for it. I am elated, joyed, overjoyed, excited, fulfilled. So many things all at once. It is like coming home to find one's spouse after they've gone missing without a word.

Admittedly, the reaction isn't healthy. At least when it is at the extremes that I experienced last night. Typically though she is quite considerate of my limitations. Speaking with her is no more dangerous than having a night out on the town with fellows from school.

Since Captain Nichrome apparently collapsed from exhaustion and exploded his arm off, and then attempted to stand a full duty shift, can understand why.
