Spoiler: john smith terrible drawing of my friend john. from a while ago that was in my notebook. he has a bigger mustache and a smaller chin, and his hair is flowier.
I'm trying to render a thing in Maya and it's slooooooooooow... (that'll teach me for putting so many light sources in there) So anyways while I'm waiting have this thing I doodled. I was watching 'Le Roi danse' yesterday and 'The Three Musketeers' (the one with Charlton Heston) and wanted to draw 17th century costume. Spoiler: fairies again These're the high officials of the fairy court.
Beep boop. More bats. I really need to work on the whole snout thing... and fur. If anyone has some good HELLA BASIC tutorial stuff for fur (preferably attached to an actual animal thing and not just 'create random clump of fur in the middle of nowhere'), I'd appreciate it. Especially if it's more on the simple side of cel shading, though my painting also needs a lot of work. Spoiler: painted woobat
Double post to the top! FLY MY WOOBATS, FLY! Spoiler: pied woobat, aka panda bat Related but I'm debating whether I want to add a tail to some of these guys (the ones based on bats with tails, at least) and alter the wings... but hm. I might look into it when I do the next woobat. I have a feeling their shape is going to make it near impossible to add a tail which is simultaneously attached to the wings considering how small the wings are... but eh. Probably going to require making the second finger much longer, at least.
@Hobo i absolutely ADORE your woobats btw. the pokemon subtypes meme is one of my absolute favorite things rn and your woobats are sooo cute. it makes me happy just looking at them every once in a while, i know that's silly.
Thank you ;3; It makes me ridiculously pleased to know that my goofy pokeyman drawings are actually capable of making other people happy, haha. And yeah, this meme is one of the best imo. I'm not a particularly imaginative person but this meme totally got me out of my drawing slump, it's great. Also I get to look at a bunch of cute bat pics! I'm probably going to be hitting up the yellow winged bat next, big nosed/eared woobat ahoy!
More double posting. Also, by coincidence, 2 new woobats. The nose on the yellow winged bat was surprisingly difficult to draw and I don't really think I got it right, but eh. I suspect it's at least partially because I had to draw it so wide instead of it just being hella long. Spoiler: kitti's hog-nosed woobat and yellow winged woobat
Ugh, I'm beat. That damn drilling rig is taking way too much time because I had to figure out all sorts of stuff - like how to connect polygons to each other to make a whole shape, and having to deal with Maya's finickiness - the damn thing kept on crashing on me. But in any case, I managed to make a handsome looking derrick that actually looks like something I would have drawn by hand (and have cursed just as much) Spoiler: bluh blah bleh Yes, I know it's boring. It's for a website commissioned by my father that will guide you into the lovely world of drilling for oil. There's going to be a lot of animation involved and I'm 'saving' myself time (not really) by rendering the backgrounds in 3D with Maya and drawing on top of them. Our purpose is a) to give me something to cut my teeth on, and b) to show off a theory of my father's about relationship of oil price connected to production units.
I have been one hundred percent unable to draw lately, but I did manage to edit an earlier picture to tweak an ocs design a bit Spoiler: It's pretty messy
Something a little different... I wanna start working on my anatomy a bit so I drew a bear using a bunch of, IDK, construction lines? Which I almost always skip because lazy. It turned into a wow troll druid in bear form and I don't think the anatomy is particularly good, but eh, it's something. Bears are too much fluff >:( Spoiler: bears. final pic + base lines
@Hobo if you like I can redline when I boot up my computer later? I am not an expert in bears but I think I can point some stuff out! I draw a lot of animals for my commissions, so I pick up a lot of anatomy of animals.
