It's just so frustr8ing. I suppose that, yes, I do forget to at times 8ut not always! Honestly.

Anyway, to address your question it's a matter of up8ringing and cultural differences. As well as the difference 8etween our rel8ions to Porrim. You see I didn't grow up knowing her on Alternia. Quite the opposite. She only came into my life well into my adulthood and then she came into it a slave. One I originally picked up mostly to toy with my kismesis. My Alternian self was very within her rights to treat Porrim in the way she did, and honestly it is hard to see her not doing so. She readily em8raced the culture she was raised in. Had I known her from an earlier point or if Porrim were not a slave, however, it might have 8een different. Definitely so I'd say. Admittedly that is specul8ion on my part, still I dou8t even my Alternian self would 8e interested in doing the sort to a close friend.

Ah, I didn't know you meant a you not aware of this you. I wonder if there are alternate timelines of me. Probably.

    Oh!!!!!!!!

Oh, you thought that I meant myself as in this particular iter8ion of me or that the Marquise was aware of me. Goodness, no. Sorry a8out the confusion there. Admittedly my wording must have 8een very confusing for someone who isn't as accustomed to my situ8ion as I am.

As far as alternate timeline James the answer is most assuredly yes! I wonder what those alternate James are like, honestly. How they vary from the current you. Also if your universe carries the same "doomed" timelines that ours does. Essentially while we have a seemingly endless num8er of possi8ilities that are all playing out at once there is a singular alpha timeline. Or, well, there are two alpha timelines. Assuming your universe functions similarly to paradox space then there is an alpha Jame whom has 8een chosen to 8e the definitive version. All other doomed James would 8e due for early deaths for devi8ion from the alpha timeline. Oh, though I'm sure you've heard the Handmaid talk a8out that enough already. It's such a dreary concept, time.

Well, I see Jame's getting acquainted with Aranea. So+rry abo+ut that. Yo+u'd think I'd be able to+ keep clo+ser watch o+ver her. She might well have talked yo+u to+ death if I didn't arrive just no+w.

Porrim please! I've hardly talked too much and 8esides she seems entirely fine with it. More than fine, honestly. Have you seen some of her responses? I mean really.

And the mighty mind reader misses o+bvio+us sarcasm o+nce again! Po+ssibly because she's so+ flustered by being teased that she can't keep a straight pan.

Yes, of course. Well now that that matter has 8een so easily cleared up let's just move on, shall we? No point in lingering here! None at all!

    No+t a single o+ne. Clearly.

    Teasing aside it's nice to+ see that yo+u're o+ut and interacting with peo+ple again. Even if o+nly o+nline. Also+ thanks fo+r ho+w yo+u treated the who+le breakup thing earlier? I'm no+t go+ing to+ run o+ff and tell Jame all the gritty details mo+stly because there's no+ po+int and it's really no+t any o+f her business. Still it's nice that my auto+no+my is respected. So+ thanks fo+r that.

Mhm. Well, I can't just hide myself away forever. That'd just 8e ridiculous. Also, you're welcome. Though that seems a 8it 8rusque, given the su8ject matter. I trust you understand that I'm sincere when I say that, though.

I wasn't aware there were other Fords until people told me about them during the Weirdmageddon event. (Except for the incestuous space pirate, but I'd rather not think about that too much.)

Please don't write me a great Alternian novel in response to this, but you do know that's disgusting behaviour, don't you?

[[note from mun, the space pirate fic is here, it's actually very well written, but you were warned about the stairs: http://archiveofourown.org/works/4809869/chapters/11011295]]

You said that much better than I could. Thanks. I was bothered by what she said - you know, since I'm a genie and all - but didn't really know how to tell her that. Just... how does she talk about it so calmly and at such length? Why does she? *sighs*

I don't see why death would have been better for her than recovery. I guess just because she'd 'ceased to be Porrim' she wasn't a person worth living.

I'm with you on that one--recovery, when possible, is always preferable to death.
