i literally just heard about this place today when someone left me fanmail that said that they heard about me from here and that i should go here because "it looks like you might need a supportive community for reality checks re tumblr bullshit and other support." at first i was like, "fuck no that......perfectly describes just what i was hoping for earlier. shit. okay sure." so here i am. i go by doro everywhere i plan on sharing about my problems. i also respond to autre and my real name, but stick to doro, my dude. i chose the name because i was reading the manga Dororo when all this really kicked off and doro p much means dirt/trash in japanese hmm, a little about myself. i really like anime. specifically sports anime, epic shonen anime (a la Hunter X Hunter and Magi), the occasional comedy (im neck deep in matsu hell), and my yearly shojo anime (ask me about this year's pick!). i also watch more youtube than actual television cause i only really watch tv with my parents. im going into college this fall to keep doing math because i love it. i also love cute things. i draw too but im too self-serving to be too good at it. im a trans guy and have been on T for, gosh, almost 8 months now. i used to be (more) depressed because of that but i got better. i pass, live in a liberal city, and am surrounded by allies. true ending, right? and then i learned a lot about myself, self-diagnosed for pedophilic disorder, and learned the True Meaning of Self-Hatred™ i deleted my old blog with all my friends on it, started up my blog for sharing thoughts, got a bit better, and then got worse again and made this blog. aaaaand the fallout of that is how i got to be here. read the blog from first post to last to see how tumblr ruins good intentions and your soul, its only 24 posts. im tired of talking on tumblr. i just wanna talk in a way that feel authentic and candid, and i wanna be away from there for awhile to recharge from this debacle (which might not even be over) even if just for a moment. i look forward to talking to you guys.

Heya! I just wanna say thanks again for actually fact-checking instead of just believing shit, because I get so sick of being accused of things by random anons. It was frankly sorta heartbreaking watching your blog be all "Okay, let's DO THIS THING and ACTUALLY CATCH SOME BAD GUYS" and all the antis are just "lol watever" because they've never actually cared about child porn, just about having an excuse to attack popular artists. You were totally right, and the thing you want to do is real and important. So you rock. (Also, a side note, if you get crap from people about the trans guy thing on tumblr, feel free to post about it here. We have several DMAB trans people who will happily stick up for you against the raging hordes of asshole trans women who think there's something wrong with trans guys.)

thanks ^^ it just felt like the right thing to do. i may have to stop sometime soon though because its starting to make me feel physically ill, but i still feel like i need to. i still cant believe that fact-checking and reporting actual CP is so rare, so its hard to accept thanks like that when it really just feels like common decency?? so no problem i guess.
funny you mention old school series, because 1) im neck deep in the Osomatsu-san fandom, 2) you can probably guess from my name and icon that im a big fan of old manga, specifically the classic Tezuka comics ofc, and 3) my pick this year is Revolutionary Girl Utena. not too oldschool considering the other things ive just mentioned, but my yearly shojo picks are usually stuff coming out that year. im really excited to get into the later bits of the show where its less character and world building and the stakes are higher. i hear the villain is awesome too!
welcome to kintsugi! dororo huh, i read that! i think that and a couple of volumes of black jack are the only things of tezuka's i've gotten my hands on. does adachi mitsuru count as oldschool? his art reminds me of tezuka's and i've liked everything of his i've read, but last i heard he was still alive and churning out comics.
