i like to sew and crochet, although crochet is definitely not my area of expertise i'm actually thinking of opening up a custom plushie etsy or somesuch once i get a little more experience under my belt wrt making patterns and making plushies that don't look like horrifyingly mutated monsters
So I was about 3 inches (a very big deal) on my VERY FIRST DPN SOCK this week when a mistake appeared that I had no clue what exactly it was or how to fix it. So I ended up unraveling the whole thing because i didnt know which stitch belonged on which needle. It was all very frustrating
I assume they're some relative of the beading needle narwhal. Spoiler: Needle narwhal #the sewing sperm whale is also in this family #quick everyone take a craft selfie #I really need to finish this necklace EDIT: And since I figure I babbled enough about clay, here is a wip bby derg. Spoiler: who mostly looks like a snake at this point
I knit, crochet, sew and embroider, but I'm new to all those things. Childish as this is, I resisted being taught any of them until I stopped associating them with femaleness. How I thought I was a cis woman all this time, I do not know. This is the little dice bag I sewed and embroidered by hand! Spoiler: it has a tiny embroidered goat And this is my most masterful creation, a DOGE plush toy I made without any instructions or pattern, as a birthday gift for a friend Spoiler: "it's awesome" Its legs are articulated with buttons! IT'S ENTIRELY SEWN BY HAND. It was an insane undertaking!
As promised: necklaces. The rest of my beads are way far away, so y'all are gonna have to wait a bit to see those. Special heads-up to @Starcrossedsky and @Stophelping, who expressed interest in these previously. Sorry for the potentially shoddy lighting, it's what I've got. This one the beading and all the glass beads are mine. Spoiler and here's a better shot of the central bead Spoiler This one, I just made the pendant, but I beaded the whole thing. Spoiler and a close-up of just the pendant Spoiler Protip: if you're working with moretti glass, you basically cannot go wrong with black, ivory, turquoise and a reducing flame. And then these two I beaded but did not make the beads (a durrr) Spoiler
My main crafty-thing is jewelrymaking, mostly beadwork and wirework. Some pics: Spoiler More jewelry... I also make handstitched notebooks (examples one, two, three, four). I've thought about opening an Etsy, but, y'know, spoons. I've also thought about edging into embroidery and other fibrecraft.
Wow, those wire bracelets kick my ass re: skill with wire. If you're not sure how well they're sell, I'd rec storenvy over etsy. Etsy charges for listing stuff, regardless if it sells or not, and their listings only last... four months? I think it's that. Storenvy isn't as well-known but you can list things there forever. Of course, they recently got a new financial system that I myself haven't had the spoons yet to figure out, so... I really need to do that and get my stamps for sale.
Hi! I'm relatively new to knitting but slowly working up the courage to try something with cables. maybe. maybe like in four projects. I have a bit of skill-related anxiety, which is why I will only ever allow myself the skill-level "bullshitting convincingly" for sewing. Otherwise I am on/off into jewelry-stuff but I usually get pissed off because stuff doesn't look like I want it to or something. Recently started getting into wire and uncut/raw semi-gemstones and natural stuff. Which means I am hoarding stuff like hell. I like making flower crowns and hairpieces! I have a few of those I can post pictures of tomorrow or something! I am really trying to figure out crown and tiara related crafts of any kind. My current planning-stage projects on that are a dew-drop-fairy circlet, a clockhands-crown and a driftwood tiara.
Looks like you need to log into a thing to see the image, so presumably Kaylotta can see it but none of us can.
I have been giving an actual sewing machine for christmas, and today aquired cheapass fabric for making a pattern with. Cosplay will occur. The top in these pics is my first unassisted sewing attempt I didn´t have a pattern, and more or less fucked around till it worked. I had EA sign it and embriodered the signature later.
That's a pretty cute top! I bought lots of fabric today, for a cosplay, a bag-sewing project and a spontaneously decided sewing thing that'll hopefully turn out cool!
