Awww, I'm honestly just kind of endeared? It's just... so "babby's first time travel fic". :3 Everyone has wacky emotionally-fueled misadventures with disproportionately severe consequences, and learns a valuable heartwarming lesson as well as not to toy with the fabric of spacetime. And Enoby's blue-and-silver makeover sounds adorable! (I wonder if there's a timeline where Harry was nicknamed "Vampire"?)

So I remembered this the other day when I was listening to the Order of The Phoenix, and realised that it's not true. Her parents are there at the train station at the end of the fifth book. So it's a good theory, but not true, unless you think she obliviated her parents in the summer between the fifth and the sixth year.

Garbage admittance here, prefacing this because I've been thinking about this since reading the Daily Beast Cursed Child synopsis the other day and it got stuck thanks to a particular meme.

Spoiler: Spoiling for both legit Cursed Child spoilers and because it's a bad idea. A terrible one, partly because memes.

I feel like I'd like Delphi better if she ended up as a turncoat protagonist by the end.

Like, a big point of the Harry Potter mythos comes down to 'love can save you and help you become a better person', so why not take this to the hilt here? We have Voldermort's daughter and she's wretched in both a meta and a canonical sense. She's little miss My Immortal garbage child, with a cross between her fathers sensibilities and mother's complete gibbering madness, right down to squeaky babytalk and really shitty murder plots. Why not make a major part of the plot her friendship with Scorpius and Albus being genuine and helping her stop being a murderous asshole? It gives a big play into the 'love wins' (because there's nothing that can prove Voldermort's beliefs more wrong than his effectively-pureblood daughter and scion and supposed planned savior looking at him and his ideals and going 'no') and it actually gives a female character in this play a major role in the story and character development beyond 'Enoby', 'Sir Not Appearing In This Play' and 'Perfect Wisdom Dispenser', and maybe it'd give JK a reason to build her out better than just splashing tattoos and hair dye on her and calling it a day.

This may be purely because I ended up thinking up the SU scene where Peridot rejects Yellow Diamond and thinking Delphie turning down Voldermort in one timeline with the dialogue of

Voldermort: "And what do you know about the ways of magic and people, in the first place?"
Delphie: "More than you know, you... You... HALF-BLOOD!"
Voldermort: SNAKE NOSTRILS FLARE, HE'S THAT ANGRY.
Scorpius, off to the side: "... Well, I guess it's an improvement, even with the casual bloodism..."

Well, this is self-indulgent as hell, so now I got that out of my skull. Thanks for listening, Potter-thread.

 

i headcanon/think its p obvious that bellatrix has a huge obsession crush on voldemort, i can totally see HER wanting it, but like... why the fuck would he? i can't see him bothering with something like that unless it helps his cause somehow and i dont see how boning bellatrix is like. a good idea. ever.

 

The only thing that REALLY bother me is that I have an oc named Delphi.
And now people are forever gonna go "Like the enoby clone?"

 

You know the augury thing confuses me. Because an augury is an omen right? A sign of things to come. But delphi comes so far after this that she doesn't make sense as an omen. Did she think she was going to bring in a new dark lord? But she had the tattoo for a while so that had to predate the time travel idea, right?

 

I'm just incredibly confused about the time travel stuff, TBH.

 

I'm pretty sure JKR has confirmed quite a while ago that Bellatrix being in love with Voldemort was her intent, for what that's worth. I'm also on team "Bellatrix would, Voldy wouldn't," though.

But clearly the greatest sin here is that it would RUIN the greatest thing she's ever said on Twitter.

 

I just want to take a moment to appreciate the fact that if Voldy and Bellatrix had a kid, the kid would probably look more like a Black more than a Riddle. So it'd almost make sense for Draco to adopt his cousin as his own kid. If only he wasn't so incredibly Malfoy looking.

Eh, he would have been at MOST not-quite-eighteen when she was born and recovering from trauma, he should not have been Parent. Sibling would be acceptable though.
