The way Swerve is so very not-okay over the Rung thing is one of my favorite touches in the series! Because it's so nice and SUBTLE and it's not in your face or anything. His guilt is expressed in outwardly ridiculous ways like talking to Rung for 147 straight hours, and it's so easy to miss the guilt underneath the humor. But then the way he talks about himself in the annual when he's pretending not to be Swerve, that breaks my heart. The way he can't get a roommate is played for laughs, and his remark to Ultra Magnus about 'people don't like me, they just laugh at my jokes' isn't lingered on. And I can't articulate what it is about the way he carries himself in Spotlight: Hoist, but... the way he carries himself in Spotlight: Hoist. Oh, and the quiet moment of hurt when Swerve asks Tailgate why he didn't tell him he's about to die. You don't really notice it happening at the time, but it builds into such a cohesive whole when he starts dying and shuts himself in his room and tends his bar via solid light avatar. He doesn't reach out to anyone for help, and because he's so isolated and keeping up that front, nobody notices that anything is wrong until it's almost too late. It's so sad, because nobody seriously WANTED him to be suffering, but it happened anyways, and he almost died. This series just. Completely wrecks me with its emotional depth.

So... Strika/Lugnut is canon?!?!?! Holy shit, I never knew, I AM SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW! @coldstars, when you were complicit in getting me emotionally invested in this ship, I never actually expected there to be canon support for these emotions, oh my goddddd Also, just in general, a lot of the tbshtc backstory is legit rooted in the tfa supplementary canon, which is pretty awesome. Drift and First Aid especially match up nicely, and the text even mentions Pharma! Alsooooo there's definitely a bit where the jettwins are totally crushing on (or just talking about, but this ship has already launched) Metalhawk, and they're wondering whether he'll want to hook up combine with them. And Hot Rod's backstory in this continuity is pretty dang excellent. And this Cyclonus is just BEGGING for a Tailgate to come around.
...my god. There is only one logical conclusion to this glorious revelation - all of TBSHTC is now canon. Sorry I don't make the rules we are IN THIS SHIT now and the canonicity shall continue to transpire y/hy/hfy

Great Meta! I don't know much about rodimus before MTMTE, I didn't read any of the previous comics. I don't even know how they met. Drift and Rodimus' relationship is kind of broken and held together with admiration and duct tape. It's great. Also, is the text prose canon? Is it in one of the trades? I have a mighty need for this...
