Very welcome! The moisturizer's a tiny bit on the expensive side, at least for my generally poor ass, but it goes a really long way (and honestly the primer does too)

Depends on the BB cream. My innisfree one has a decent coverage, while my missha cushion tends to go a little sheerer. Temptalia has a foundation matrix that you can use to find brands with neutral-yellow tones, to avoid the fake tan thing - if you find one with decent coverage that looks good on your skintone, you can even play with it a little by mixing with other foundations or with plain moisturizer to sheer it out.

I decided to do my nails today. Left hand looks good... Right hand looks like i was holding the brush with my ass.

BB Creams are "Beauty Balms" which mean they are sheer and don't cover like a true foundation. If you're looking for more thorough cover, I'd recommend Revlon's Age Defying line. You might have to mix to get the right shade for your skin, but they provide a really even, smooth coverage that gets rid of redness altogether. Speaking from the POV of someone who has problem skin (acne, redness, scarring) it works wonders.

If you don't want full coverage, a BB cream with a green-tinted concealer underneath should take care of redness pretty well.

If you want the perfect match for your skin, I recommend going to Ulta or Sephora and have one of the beauty consultants match you and show you how to apply. Also if you want to make the "fake tan" look less visible, remember to blend it up to your ears, your hairline, and down your neck to the collarbone.

    Good Luck!

Thank you! Can I ask what you're supposed to use to mix into a foundation? Is there a white base or something?

Do you have any thoughts on beauty blenders vs buffing brushes?

Unfortunately I'm nowhere near either an Ulta or a Sephora, but if I ever am....oh boy.

Life's entropy has a line of tone correcting mixers for foundations. I have the white one, and it's pretty good. You can also mix other foundations - I have a MUFE velvet+ in the lightest shade to mix with other matte foundations (or to make a dewy foundation more matte).

I like beauty blenders better than brushes for application, but depending on the foundation brushes are better. Of the ones I have, though, a slightly damp beauty blender gives me a much better finish with a lot less work.

Yess, I very much want a matte finish to my face. I'm not an oily person at all but thanks to my rosacea medicine, my face now has a shine to it. It's weird!

I, personally am a savage very hands-on and prefer using my fingers for makeup application. sponges are weird, the beauty blender knock-off I had just didn't make me happy with the finish and I have a lot of tiny hairs on my face so applying foundation with brushes is an exercise in pain and streaking.
my usual application is like one would do moisturizer, with my fingers, and then using a powder brush to brush all the hairs downwards if I'm not doing powder anyway.

oh also, speaking of my hideous face, I wanted to show how much better my skin is since I started on medication for it last year!

And see, since the texture of my skin was SO BAD, I never bothered with any sort of cover up because it just looked cakey, but now my face is smooth! But still pink and a little splotchy. So foundation time is a go.

But seriously, you never realize how bad skin can destroy your self-esteem until you get that shit fixed and realize how much more confident you feel outside where people can see you.

Beauty blenders are my holy grail beauty product. I live and die by them and I absolutely love them. You just have to make sure you get them REALLY WET AND DAMP before you start popping it on your face or else you'll end up with a dry tacky mess and that's not fun.

Uhhh as far as mixing goes, I meant mixing two shades of foundation to get your right colour. But, if I were you, I'd try Maybelline's Fit Me foundation in Porcelain or Natural Ivory. I usually mix those two together and it gets me the right shade.

    Hair help needed guys please.

I missed my last haircut appointment and haven't made another because lack of spoons, so my hair is a big floofy mess. It is also becoming noticeably white, which is. Uh. Not my aesthetic. Have photo.

I do not want to Fuss with my hair. I am having thoughts of shaving my head or dyeing it and gathering enough spoons to phone my hairdresser. I have blue, purple, pink and red dye on hand but I've done all those colours and so I'm meh about them.

Suggestions welcome, my brain is not armed to cope with Decisions rn.

Maybe you could use a small amount of a dye to just dye the white a metallic red/pink/blue streaks?

do rainbow highlights by tackling each white strand with a different color from what you have on hand

i respect it not being your aesthetic, but i feel the need to point out that it actually looks super cool the way it is, too. whee.

anyways HI HELLO EVERYONE I AM HERE FOR ADVICE. i am super bad at caring for anything related to my appearance due to Reasons, but lately i have realised i miss my long hair so much looking at old selfies is actually causing me distress. ((i mean. look at this glorious mess.
    I WANT THAT BACK))
problem: how do hair?? how care for hair?? i had to cut mine ages ago because it was so worn (is that the word to use in english), split ends all over the place and it barely even did the curly thing at all anymore, it just... tangled.... and floofed up... and now i feel like it doesn't grow at all anymore :(
any help would be appreciated - advice on how to make it grow faster, what to do so it doesn't get frizzy & fragile as quickly, specific products to look for (or avoid)... literally anything, i miss having long hair so bad </3

(part of the problem is when i get nervous i pull at it. like i'll brush my fingers through my hair and then find a strand and just sorta repeatedly twine it around my finger or just touch it and it's.... really bad for my hair... this was better when it was longer bc then i just grabbed the bottom of it and it wasn't super noticeable but now that it's shorter i'll go from the top of my head?? so all the hair that's like, on top of my head, is noticeably shorter and more frizzy than the rest of it, it sucks) ((i wish i could say i'm working on this but honestly i'm an anxious wreck and it's either this or biting my nails and i can't seem to stop doing either))

I am also trying to grow out my very fragile and slow-growing hair, @Erica ! We can be hair growing buddies.

The advice I've found has had a lot to do with good conditioning practices. There are like forty million recommendations out there for what that means, though. I've been stealing a lot of ideas from this article, but I am also happy to camp for good advice from everyone else.

as someone who has long af hair (though i dont try to hard to keep it healthy, hh)
id say my hair feels the halthiest when conditioned. which for me means like, an oreo sized glop of conditioner. which may be over doing it, but eh
just make sure to wash it out thouroughly after the leaving in in the shower period, cause having any left in your hair after is grosssss

I've been treating my hair with coconut oil now and again -- just gently massaging it into my roots and leaving it in for like 15 or 20 minutes, then washing it out with gentle shampoos. I also use nourishing conditioners. My hair is thin but it grows fast these days.

    @Kit eyyyyy! :D
and yeah there's.... so much when you google it x___x too much info at once, everyone is saying different things, overwhelming, i gave up

@Imoyram my sister also has super long hair (like.... it's past her butt) that she doesn't really do anything special for :') mine used to be like that (though not as long) and then something?? happened? idk idk
also i use so much conditioner. like definitely too much conditioner. (so. much.)

i know some ppl advocate just... skipping shampoo entirely and only using conditioner and that sounds like something i might actually want to try, but it only works with certain kinds of conditioner? like, there's an ingredient they're not allowed to have, and i get too confused trying to read through ingredient lists to figure out which conditioners are permitted and not. bleh.

my hair grows out fast on a good routine of washing it only about twice a week, washing it with a good shampoo that is free of silicones and parabenes, and occassionally giving it a coconut oil treatment, or using a leave-in-hair-oil.
You can actually over condition your hair. Or use the wrong kind. There is a lot of different kinds.
