I think I got it to work. Sweet jesus that's a lot of mods, though. I lost one of my starting books to some sort of rune thing and I still can't figure out where anything is/what anything does.

@Socratease there's an area in the scrublands, just south of the place with the big purple stone wall, that I'm clearing for my own house. I'll get the coordinates when I get on this morning. If there's any space left over when I'm done staking out my walls, you're welcome to it. I tend to prefer my bases on the more compact side anyway, so there probably will be. EDIT: also, can anyone point me in the direction of some dark oak trees? I'm a big fan of their look for flooring/doors.
Maybe we should run a poll? "which mods do you use/do you plan to use in the future", with links/basic explanations of what each mod does. Then we could get a clear picture of which mods are and aren't worthwhile. Edit: seriously, I know I'm belaboring the point a bit, but my machine is pretty beefy, and the server still crashes like an epileptic trying to Tokyo Drift on black ice. That shit ain't right.

Btw @seebs , do you have any idea why the uncrafting table from the twilight forest mod doesn't appear to allow uncrafting? I'm at level 91, trying to uncraft basic iron swords and it's all greyed out and now allowing it. The FTB wiki claims that modpacks often disable the uncrafting feature in the config file, is this the case on this server (and can it be changed)? Also @Vast Derp holy shit, that node in your base is fucking massive, hahaha. I took a mooshroom from the island for my farm, I hope that's not a problem! I can return it if so. Edit: Also if anyone has seen any sharks, please let me know their location so I can wrestle them. They're very important for my Seaworld plans.
i have never seen a single shark. i will go see if there are eggs and spawn you some in your area. the uncrafting table was disabled in config, iirc seebs said it was super buggy. i do have a recycler that works p close to the same in my treehouse base, though, if you want to snag the iron. also: haha yeah that node's been bullying 8 other nodes for like... 8 months XD
I remain completely incapable of making decisions and commitments in this game and it's driving me insane! I just want to build a nice base and start progressing through mods! I hate how I keep half-building, tearing it all down to build something else, then tearing that down too! I hate it!!
ok i spawned a ton of sharks around my base and around the Tower of Rainbowy Goodness! there's a huge crowd at the moment, but they should disperse over time. i also made there be jellyfish, which also do not naturally spawn. let me know if you want any other critters to be existed! colonies of wild Kitty are particularly nice to have, since they don't follow you around and die but are merely cute and easy to tame (and vicious if you do not feed them)
In that case, I also haven't managed to find any manta rays or sting rays on my shark search either. I don't know if that's just because I'm skimming the ocean surface and they're down below, or what. Every other Mo' Creatures animal I've at least sighted once or twice. Shit's weird. Also that reminds me that I should probably feed my kitty horde. Whoops. Also I am SUPER CLOSE to being done with my zoo, though I'm definitely going to have to remake one of the enclosures into another pool given all these new jellyfish and possible rays. I also tamed my first baby elephant, which then... somehow duplicated and replaced/deleted one of my fully grown asian elephants. I really have 0 luck with asian elephants given how often these bastards disappear. Edit: Actually, has anyone seen crabs? I've never seen one.

You're welcome to make some from the iron hanging around in chests by my smeltery (tower thing made of black bricks) if you're in a pinch.

Why are the snow biomes teeming with snakes??? Why are they climbing the icy glaciers?????? Snakes are a fucking mystery. I was expecting polar bears and arctic foxes, and all I've seen so far are pythons, cobras and other snakes. Go back to the desert and rainforest, ya bums! You don't belong here! Edit: Look at these little shits hiding in the snow. Edit 2: FINALLY SOME SANITY IN THIS SNOWY WASTELAND OF REPTILES. The alps biome has NO SNAKES and instead has snow leopards (!!!!), some cute horses, birds, and herds of cows, pigs and sheep. You know, the usual sort of thing you'd expect to see on the top of a gigantic mountain of snow.
