oh but in other news i just started reading a skyfire/silverbolt g1 longfic (why? i know almost nothing about both of these characters, why am i reading it?? it's good...) and. oh my gosh the way this author is writing fireflight speaks to my little ADHD soul ahh it's so.... i don't know how to explain it, it's just right. he's absentminded but his thoughts are always racing and he misunderstands things that seem obvious to other people in the same way that i do, and he feels things so strongly, and people are impatient with him in ways that are just. super familiar and. ahhhh Same Hat hand flappies..... this robot has ADHD and also is me, i have finally found the robot that is Me anyway!!!! carry on, as you were, nothing to see here

yay, I totally knew which fic you were talking about even though it's been years, I used to adore the aerialbots g1 combiner teams fics are great in general edit: seriously, idw could benefit from that sort of thing. combiner teams tend to be so pale-romantic in fic, and the aerials deserved So Much Meta because they were basically babies and g1 autobots had so few fliers, and I just love them in general. though if I look for fics that I read like 6 years ago, I'm bound to be disappointed
I actually used to be a huge g1 fan, which is embarrassing now, but eh, might as well admit it, it's hardly the worst of all the Transformers stuff I got into as a teen (Unicron Trilogy was a horrifying trainwreck, for one...) (also I really liked Shattered Glass, even though everyone seems to hate it?) maybe I should go looking for the aerialbots series I faintly remember

Spoiler: Sins of the Wreckers I'm probably dumb, but how would releasing the proof that Autobots tried their war criminals re-ignite the war? Do they... do they think the Decepticons don't know about the war crimes? I'm pretty sure the Decepticons know autobots were doing war crimes. Like, probably not exact details of what happened, but... word gets out? Wouldn't proof that people were being held accountable and it wasn't just Decepticons getting raked over the coals post-war help? Cause as it is I see the Decepticons getting ripped apart (for admittedly horrible actions) while nobody is willing to admit that the Autobots ever did anything wrong, and I feel like that atmosphere is a lot more likely to re-ignite the war than transparency is. Am I stupid?
Spoiler I think it depends on what kind of war crimes. The kind of things that showed up in Punishment and Redemption maybe, but on a larger scale: massacring organics, destroying unborn sparks. The kind of things that violate what the Autobots supposedly stood for, and while it might not be news to the Decepticons, would be really upsetting to the neutrals and the colonists. Or it could just be that Prowl is a paranoid fuck.

Spoiler Yeah, I doubt things would split along the same lines. But there would be a split, and I think that at this point in time there would be enough Autobots who hate the Decepticons enough to feel that the war crimes were justified as "they were/would have been aiding the Decepticons". And then all the groups would probably start fragmenting along factions based on things even unrelated to that. So yeah, I don't think it would reignite the Autobot-Decepticon war, but it would ignite a war.
Spoiler: 54 Drift survived being loped in half at the waist by Overlord. He even spent a few panels fully conscious and crawling around with his arms. On the other hand, being ripped in half seems more tramatic then being cut. His spine came completely out... Canonically, the minis cant take as much damage as the larger robots so poor Ravage might not survive :(
