(I am pretty sure this is the right subforum for this??) The ending of Homestuck coincided with a bunch of my friends doing Nuzlocke runs, so I figured I would commemorate the end of an era with a game where EVERYONE CAN DIE. :D I want to share my progress with Kintsugi, too. This is my first serious attempt at a Nuzlocke, so I am going easy on myself, as I think it will be hard for me anyway! I'm playing Pokémon Red on my 3DS. My player name is Callie, my rival is Calibrn. (Seven character limit. Friends also suggested Calibro and English, which were both good, but I went with my gut.) Here's a link to general Nuzlocke rules for those unfamiliar. Beyond those, here are my specialized rules: 1) All of my Pokémon will get Homestuck character names (kids, trolls, carapicians, leprechauns, denizens, etc., but not places or concepts like Skaia or Lusus). As long as Pokemon can be nicknamed, they are acceptable (so, no in-game trades here). 2) Any time the encounter rate changes, that counts as a new area. 3) Duplicates will be handled in one of two ways, depending. a. If the current one is still "alive", then duplicate encounters can be skipped a maximum of 6 times. After 6, no pokemon can be caught in that area. b. If the current one is "dead", timeshit comes into play and a new version comes back. They get the same name as the old version. They will be considered as if they were from a different timeline, basically. I may institute a god tier policy later if it's necessary to continue game play, but I haven't decided about that yet.

OTHER: Right now, I have the Dome Fossil. It will become Karkat if I don't get a Krabby at some point. The Mayor is safe in Can Town/The Day Care.
When I get home, I'm gonna draw Cronus the Rattata. My friend suggested that name because in her run, she got sick of Rattata pretty faced and knew I wouldn't mind having Cronus be canon fodder (also Rattata is purple). Unfortunately, I am now attached because I keep picturing a smarmy little Rattata with forehead scars and a pompadour. XD
...I am very tempted to steal this idea, because Homestuck + Nuzlocke = perfect combination. Would that be cool with you?
Acey and I talked about this over Skype, but yes, that's absolutely fine. I own neither of these concepts, anyway. :3 But I would ask that people make a their own threads if they plan to document it.

Unrelated to the actual game, I finally took the old stickers off the back of my 3DS. They were extremely cute (Princess Bubblegum, Totoro, and a Joltik), but very worn. The stick residue came off very easily with some oil from a jar of natural peanut butter I hadn't mixed yet. Here's hoping that doesn't kill Jake the Mankey. :P

I'm reminded of an old nuzlocke I did, narrated by Karkat, going on and on about how the brutal dogfighting world of Pokemon worked and occasionally seguing into rants about how important it was to take care of your pokemon even if they were going to die randomly to a critical hit. I never finished it, possibly because all my pokemon died, but it was fun. Anyway, story aside, homestuck nuzlockes are Excellent and I wish you the best of luck!!
Ty @Salted Earth! :3 Today, Davesprite evolved into Pidgeotto, I beat both Calibrn and Lt. Surge (why he thought locating his electric gym across from a cave full of powerful ground types was a good idea I will never know), and I caught a Voltorb. It's called Doc Scratch, but there's not enough letters, so it's "DOCSCRATCH". Sleep is necessary before Rock Tunnel!
Sad news today, Feferi is DEAD. Darned Gravelers and their selfdestructs! She wasn't instrumental to my team but I LIKED her. >:/ In better news, Equius the Machop and Droog the Onix have joined us. Equius is already contributing.
So I may have cheated a little and gotten Becquerel the Growlithe after the first one ran away, but in my defense, First Guardians can manipulate time and space so I needed an advantage. ;P
Many much additions to the team today! So I got a Gastly and named her Aradia, and wouldn't you know it, she died immediately! XD But per my rules, I was allowed to catch another Gastly on the next floor of Lavender Tower. Hello, alternate timeline Aradia, please try not to die. XD Five Minutes Later Edit: She got down to 1 HP and I about became a ghost myself. @~@
Question: In the event I catch a Snorlax, what should I name it? Considering going with Vriska because "fat Vriska", but I feel like it could be better.

Given character limits, you might wanna just go with B-Slick. I'm pretty sure Aradia actually refers to it as such at one point, so it's not like you'd be wrong.
